Maybe some people don’t understand that he’s ITK on this front.

I understand that he’s ITK but it’s fun to see which different ideas people have on how we could set up the team. I’ve become more interested in this thread since it’s become more obvious Conte isn’t likely to be here next season. It’s nice to see what people believe our options are with the current squad

To be honest - this isnt about the team - we need to come out tomorrow all guns blazing... play with intensity, impetus, a bit of pace and be relentless until we get the two goals. There is absolutely zero point in us doing this whole patience sitting u shaped passing round the back for 20 mins.

However, as I said already it does feel a bit pointless making predictions about what the team might be once the actual team has been announced.

I think it’s fairly obvious people aren’t in here to predict the team though, more to give their opinion on what they’d like to see. The thread would be incredibly boring if people were predicting the team as it’s normally very predictable lol

Conte is never going to go fully for it in the first minute. He will keep it tight and search for the first goal and pick off Milan if when they start to come out of their low block.

It is not in Conte’s nature to go all out and he will approach it much more conservatively and to be honest it’s probably the right way As we are not trained to go all out. If we do we will be out Italian‘d and they will pick us off at the back comfortably.

Its the 2nd leg of a cup game and we're losing. They don't have to come out.
Let them get settled in, maybe even get on top and control the game, is not how you win this.
Agree though thats probably what we'll do.

Agree, and I only blame ourselves for stumbling on the information, but it definitely takes the edge of the pre-game. Also can only give opponents an advantage. It’s the kind of ITK I just can’t see benefitting anyone!

I like how everyone chucks these 4231 team choices acting like they know better than a manager…So here we’ve got a LCB with serious question marks over now with more defensive duties being in a two, a RWB playing RB who’s still settling in up against Milan’s best player. Son in a position he’s never been good in, Kulu in a position he’s never played in for us. Danjuma’s first start being a CL knockout game with Ben Davies having to overlap from a much deeper starting point (good luck). But yeah 100% this would work and we should use the only big game left to trial it.

I don’t see why Royal or Emerson can’t play at LWB because Perisic is a traffic cone. If Lucas gets minutes over Danjuma then I give up

I’d rather have Porro on the left, Emerson on the right. Emerson has been good there, so by playing Porro on the right we weaken both sides. Pace is pace whatever side Porro plays, and I trust Davies to support the youngster defensively more than Romero, who will just play his normal seek and destroy game.
