He’s only there for me because I want 3 in the middle for a change and if you stick with wingbacks they need to have a big attacking threat as they are your only width in a 352. Danjuma can play LWB and there’s absolutely no way in the world he could be worse than Perisic. Also allows Skipp to play to his strengths in DM, PEH and Sarr would perform better in a 3 too IMO

I just want to avoid using Perisic tbh and we need to score at least twice to win, so going attacking is the order of the day IMO. I think you’d have adequate defensive cover from the midfield 3 even with two very attacking wingbacks in Porro and Danjuma. I think getting Son away from the build up and tasking him with just playing around the box and finishing as a striker would help him, he’s over complicating his game atm. This is a system I’ve been keen to see us play for some time now. Would get the best out of Son, all of our CM’s play a role that suits them, defensive cover for two attacking wingbacks and I think the back 3 would be solid and mobile, maybe lacking a bit of height to deal with Giroud but that’s the only drawback I can see

I thought we'd go through when we drew them and even after the first leg but we are just so unbelievably toothless in possesion. LHS dynamics absolutely suck and Perisic + Son are in awful form individually. RHS Kulu is in poor form and despite Emerson's renaissance he still struggles in the final third, whether thats on the inside or the outside. And that's not even mentioning our overall flawed tactical approach. Can see Milan sitting off and scamming one on the break second half.

Only one available at Lwb, but yeah i would have rather seen a 4 backline with davies as Lb and an additonal attacking player instead but Conte is the boss unfortunaly.
