I don’t disagree with that

I do see what you're saying though and Son may very well end up scoring tomorrow because there always is that possibility. Frustratingly though if we're going on how he's been this season it may be a game with a goal or two and then 5+ poor games to follow.

It’s hard to write him off after the last couple of seasons - Conte knows he can lead the counter attack and the ball definitely arrives at the top end of the pitch - just needs Son to stop cocking it up

Trouble is if he doesn’t use Danjuma at some point then it just adds to the whole transfer clusterfuck discussion

Yeah I wouldn't like to write him off so to speak but I do think a different approach other than to just keep trying to play him into form, may be needed to reignite him. It's one thing to do that when you have no other viable options but another when there are two seemingly capable players waiting for their chance in the same position.

Also Son from the bench is something that tactically could prove to be very if not more effective anyway, at stages of matches where there will be tired legs and possibly more of an open game.

I'm all for helping Son return to the player we know and love. But at some point, and we're well past it, he must be benched so that others have a chance to be effective. At the same time, he reflects on limited minutes (coming on as a sub) and how to earn the trust for a full 90 again. And as ajspurs just said, that could be tactically effective to have Richarlisilon push aggressively against a defender to possibly be replaced by a fresh Son after 65 mins.

The story of our season so far is one of drift. Theres been no specific development that's been a hallmark of growth. Shit one half and better the next has been the theme so far (at best). The footy is mostly dull and self damaging. Sticking with Son is part of it. I hope Stellini acts decisively now to address the drift. Change things a bit. Give Richarlison a run. Try 352. Trust in Skipp and Sarr as a partnership. Work on something positive so there are no more Leicester debacles.

His best performance was when he came off the bench and bagged 3 v Leicester. It's about time that was tried again because it's about the only thing that's worked for him this season.

I wonder if Stellini will go with his preferred line up and put his phone on airplane mode "by accident"

I don't even know how good danjuma is but the very little I've seen in a spurs shirt he looks good enough to start
