I just really hope Poch doesn't play Alli in the #10 again.

Lloris
Trippier Toby Jan Rose
Dembele Dier
Lamela Eriksen Son

Seems to be a lot of denial that Lamela needs dropping and there's some grasping around going on about who should be dropped in his place now Son has staked a claim - and Dier seems to have been picked as the victim. Not gonna happen. Dier's quite clearly going to start.
Do you know that you're literally the only person that goes on about Lamela? So fucking boring now.

Commentators seemed to think Son had picked up an injury so I guess that could well have some impact on who starts. Prsonally I would like to see the OP line up if possible.

If Son's fit then give him a chance ahead of Alli. The rest of the team virtually picks itself. If Walker's up to it then I'd have him in ahead of Trippier, I expect we'll need his pace against Palace's forward line.

I'd start Son (if fit) and Chadli as goals breed confidence and they both look like confidence players. Also both seemingly aren't very effective coming off the bench. Alli has been off the boil lately, and I'm not a fan of him as a 10 as he tends to get in Kane's way a lot. Lamela has been one of our best players this season, but he has been a bit off key the last couple so a rest could do him good. Lots of onus on Eriksen to be the creative force in that side, maybe that's what he needs?

Some interesting selections for Poch ahead of this. I'm sure he'll swap the full backs because we all know that will happen but I'm sticking with Walker. And providing Son only picked up a slight knock and we took him off as a precaution, he definitely has earned a start after tonight.

Surely we can give Dier a rest here. They havn't scored in five games and we'll dominate the ball. Bolasie is out and that really negates the speed of their counter attack. That said its still an away game and he's formed a very formidable defensive axis with Toby and Jan so I fully expect him to start. Just think this could be a good time to give him a break and we've a lot of games coming up.

Also much prefer Alli in the CM2 as opposed to in behind Kane or alongside him.

I think we need someone in CM to move the ball quicker. I would also have Davies in over Rose, as there is more chance of a quality pass or cross put in.

Lloris
Walker Toby Jan Davies
Alli Carroll
Son Dembele Eriksen
Kane
Bench: Vorm, Wimmer, Dier, Bentaleb, Onomah, Lamela, Chadli

Edit: and for the Colchester game (Assuming Pritchard & Mason are still out):

Vorm
Trippier CCV WImmer Rose
Winks Bentaleb
Lamela Onomah Chadli
Son

Bench: Lloris, Toby, Dier, Dembele, Oduwa, Eriksen, Kane

Lloris; Walker, Toby, Verts, Rose; Dembele, Alli, Lamela, Eriksen, Son; Kane.

Hopefully get out to an early lead which could put them in the tank.

I completely disagree that we don't need Dier in a game like this. He's often the player that breaks up the counter attacks before they get in dangerous positions. We seen that without a proper shield in midfield today that Leicester were able to transition from midfield to the attacking third much easier than when Dier is in the team. In fact, he's almost more important in these games as he is in the games against the top sides.

Lamela hasn't been at his best in recent games and Son was fantastic against Leicester so he should play ahead of him. Rotate the full backs as usual.

Lloris
Trippier - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Dier - Dembele
Son - Alli - Eriksen
Kane

Rest Dier v Colchester. He'll be fine next two games. Hardly had any trouble between him and Wimmer last night.

Rotate the full backs again, Trippier and Rose in. Davies and Walker can play v Norwich before more rotation v Colchester and use the squad well before Watford and Man City.

I'd probably leave Eriksen or Lamela out too. Both have played a lot of minutes lately

I saw some people say about having Dembele and Alli in the middle and I love that idea vs some of the team that sick back, I think we don't need a destroyer. Against palace though I think we need somebody to break up the play.

I'd move Dier back to midfield, partner him with Carroll, drop Alli and play Dembele higher up.

Was thinking that - quite like your suggestion with moving Dembele further up. Also gives Lamela a rest as he's played a lot as well.

Lamela needs a rest. Been well off his game of late. Son in for him if fit. Otherwise as you were.

Have to agree here and against teams that sit his industrious work tracking back is not as needed.

He also has struggled a little to assist in the break down of these kinds of teams over the last few weeks and perhaps it would be better to give Son a prem start against this lot as he will constantly attempt to drive forwards and through them.

If he starts then fair enough, he has earned the right to do so after a very good first half to the season. I just think others deserve a chance too and great performances like the ones on Wednesday by Son should be rewarded.

Completely agree with this, Lamela has been awesome in the games vs arsenal and city but vs the likes of sunderland and leicester it feels like too many chefs with him and Eriksen

Yeah. I think Lamela is good in the very tight games against the better teams, but against the 10 men behind the ball merchants he struggles.
