To be fair when people have a reason to be positive they prefer to ride that wave into something else in their life straight away. Generally a good way of doing things in my experience

Away from SC you might well be right, but on here, both during and after the game, the usual suspects were (and some still are) lurking on SC without posting. They weren't off riding the wave into anything.
But whatever I suppose, all the while they aren't winding people up that's the main thing.

In the main, this thread has been excellent today and they haven't been missed at all.

Yep, there was a really good vibe in the ground today, the players looked up for a battle, PEH and Richarlison were exceptional, we worked, moved and covered well as a team, crowd definitely helped keep the atmosphere up after we conceded.

Overall we were well the better side from the off and really should have had a few more goals. We still weren't as smooth and slick as when we're at our best and we still fell back too deep for ten minutes or more in the second half, but we were definitely starting to string some good play together so maybe we're beginning to find our rythm.
I said before the game we should win comfortably but I wouldn't put money on a clean sheet as Mitrovic can always conjure up a goal given half a chance which turned out right.
Good performances all over the pitch but I give my MotM to Rodrigo Bentancur, Christ he was everywhere and involved in everything, his elegance masks just how much work he does.

From my POV regarding negative posts. When I'm enjoying a game I rarely post during it. But will post afterwards to eulogise/dissect.
When it's boring me I tend to post during (negative and positive)

Didn't post during the game today and thought we played some really nice stuff.

Thought we were fantastic today, we completely controlled the game and created a number of high quality chances.
I think having our ball players on the pitch makes such a huge difference in Lenglet Romero and bentacur, we look so much more assured in possession and able to knock it round at the bar far more effectively.
I thought our midfield 2 were excellent and dominated the middle and I loved the quick one 2s pass and move between them.
Son played well and hopefully his goal comes soon.
Romero was clearly shattered which explained the lazy defending but he was out with an injury.
Wish conte would make more subs though, Benta was tiring, and fresh makes do help.
No poor performance really today, but I do wish emerson could improve his crossing.
A lot more positive today after the West Ham game but I’m sure with the same team out that game we would have won.
excited to see our left hand side with lenglet peri and son, that is so so strong on paper.
Hopefully we are close to having everyone fully fit for once, be nice to have our strongest side out and are fully strongest bench.

He is a real crowd pleaser.

We should've ran away with it instead of squeaky bum time, but that was a very good performance that deserved the win. Good energy and got well on top for most of the game. Lenglet looked good.

We need more composure and threat from wing backs, but we're tracking along very well with an excellent points haul to start the season

Never liked him much at Everton - Surprised to find out he is pacey, strong, good at running from deep and puts his body on the line to collect free kicks. Has taken on the team spirit thing pretty fast, has a point to prove. I wish the "goal" he got today was good. Proper team/squad player.

Was at the game and we were very convincing.

Lenglet looks like a proper player and is so assured in possession.

He should definitely be playing every game where we'll have most of the ball, as it makes such a difference to our attacking phases of play.

A bit harsh on Davies. Lenglet did absolutely fine today but no better than Davies has been playing consistently for a long while now. It's just nice to have what appears to be a similar quality alternative to rotate as required.

It is harsh but lenglet is much better on the ball. There was 2 or 3 times today where he was getting pressed and he didn’t rush or panic he picked the right pass which sprang attacks. Davies is a decent player but his passing isn’t great and it is a key difference having 3 extra ball players on the pitch today in lenglet, Benta and Romero, we look so much more fluid
