Actually thought winks was class. Totally controlled the game and everything went through him
That first-half tackle with the body faint after. Wow.
Actually thought winks was class. Totally controlled the game and everything went through him
i stand by what i said in the match thread,
Winks needs to show more balls, he slows the whole game down by incessantly making back and sidepasses.Hes afraid to make things happen and thats not good enough for a number 8 who is supposed to keep the midfield ticking.
First half its all about our Centrebacks making those long passes. Winks need to show more responsibility, drive.the ball foward, do link up plays instead of constantly signaling players to play back passes with that outstreched arms.
Todays moral of the story is "To Dare is to Do" You win games by taking chances passing foward instead of fucking around the defensive perimeter getting 95% pass completion. Dembelee is epitome of our clubs motto today, him and Lo Celso; they are going to make things happen this season
You are complaining that Rose didn't do a better job storming in from LB and defending the right CB position for their goal?
ffs we don;t need a scapegoat
1. Please offer Eriksen anything he wants.
2. Actually my fav moment before the end bit where we actually scored and won was Winks' tackle then recovery then little sidefoot
It was weird, because player for player I don't think anyone was horrendous even before Eriksen came on. It was just a horrible formation with a lack of creative intelligence.
How was Rose awful and at fault for their goal?
Firstly Sanchez was at fault for getting too tight to the player he was marking and instead of following the danger he just kept grabbing the same player. Toby wasn't marking anybody and wasn't alive to the danger. No midfield player covered the run of their midfield player who scored. If they weren't going to cover the run either they pass him on to a centre back or the centre back calls the midfielder back to mark him.
Rose simply came across on the cover as a good full back should. The player had the composure to cut inside and finish. Nothing to do with Rose at all imo.
He wasn't great but he was strong, attacking and combative as always. There were far worse performances eg sissoko, moura.
Sissoko 2 assists today #JustSayin

The second half we largely played a 4-2-4 effectively, with Lamela out on the left wing. We looked most comfortable when Eriksen came on, went to more a 4-2-3-1 and Moura on the right whilst Kane played as the No.9, and during this period made our comeback and won the match. Poch surely has to take note, we suffer both with and without the ball with the current tactics, but I'm not convinced he will.......
I agree with almost everything you say. But Poch's post match presser aludes to him not liking his formation first half, and he blamed himself for his players not understanding it.
I think Poch will be better this season tactically, partially because he showed plenty of glimses last season of evolving, and partially because he has a superb array of choices this year in midfield. He is stubborn, but I sense he will improve.
