JJ did say we had other options instead of BF...maybe this is one of them...
For me this has always been on. But others have said zero chance. Obviously people receive info from different sources so it’s normal to have conflicting information. That’s why info is passed on in good faith and sometimes it doesn’t come to fruition.

I don't disagree, but the reality is that Kean is 19 with 35 Serie A appearances. At just 17, there seems to be some disagreement as to whether Parrott is even far enough a long to be in the first team.

It's not Kean v. Parrott. It's Someone Who Can Play v. Someone Who Isn't Ready.

Based on his pre-season performances (against Top CL teams) I would say Parrott is ready to be our 4th choice CF behind Kane, Son and Moura. It is important to judge a player’s technical ability, understanding of the game, their mental strength and their physical development. Age is almost irrelevant - the fact he is 17 means nothing. If you based it purely on age then players like Robbie Keane, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen would not have flourished as they did as 16/17 year olds at the highest level. The lad Everton has signed looks a real prospect, just surprising no one else was in for him at such a low price in today’s market, maybe there is something we don’t know that scouts do? Personally I’d rather see Parrott develop.

The way we are quibbling over the GLC and BF fees there is no way we will see this as value for money. I'd suggest Danny Drinkwater is more likely

This would be a deadline day deal if it's gonna happen but with Palace not being able to replace him in the time I would imagine it's highly unlikely now. Maybe one to look at in January.

I saw a bit of chat about Zaha and Everton and how much Palace would be asking in the Bruno thread, but it got me wondering if given the fact that Zaha has been wanting to leave for quite a while, there might be some sort of gentleman’s agreement that he can leave for a CL team. I’m not saying that means Palace would necessarily accept less from us, but maybe would be more willing to deal at 65+add ons/players (not sure who - Wanyama maybe) than they are with Everton’s 65+players

I'd actually prefer our formation if we signed Zaha because then we could finally play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 properly

Moura Dele Son
Kane

With the alternatives being

Lamela Lo Celso Zaha
Parrott

or 4-3-3

Ndombele Winks Lo Celso
Moura Kane Son

with the back ups being

Sissoko Skipp Dele
Lamela Parrott Zaha

I just wonder if that gives us depth in a broader positional terms as opposed to signing two 8-10 hybrids.

100% agree with this. Eriksen looked like a fish out of water in a 4-3-3 (as does Dele to be honest), so I've no reason to think that Fernandes wouldn't be the same. If that's the formation we're looking to play then I'd much rather GLC and Zaha than GLC and Fernandes, personally. I think Zaha and Moura would be great competition for one another.

Yeah people always argue would Zaha improve our first 11, well that's up for debate but he'd certainly improve our squad.

Palace do seem to be having a shocking window. They lost AWB and haven't really brought anyone in other than a 33-year-old Cahill and made Ayew permanent.

Whilst Zaha is the main man and makes their team considerably better, I wonder if they'd be happy with 60/70m at this stage as they really need to strengthen in many areas.

They also don't have Batshuayi anymore, so they really need some more firepower. If Zaha is proving to be unsettled and disruptive they may wish to get the money and make their squad more rounded.

Definitely take that, if we shifted Eriksen and got Sess, GLC and Zaha Id be more than happy. Yeh I know optimistic ratings.

I think for the following season keeping Zaha may be the difference between them staying up and going down. They might have a situation where if they sell Zaha, every team they enquire about a player from will quote ridiculous prices knowing they have the money in the bank.

Could be a real mess if they sell him and don't/cant replace him, the rest of their team is gash.

Hard to fathom any way Palace could sell at this point. No way they could put that money to use this quickly and with where prices are in the market, they’re going to be trading a dollar for 3 dimes. He’s their only chance to stay up.

I think he’d be a great add, but it ain’t gonna happen.

True, I hadn't thought about that.

If they aren't bringing in players now then I guess it shows they have no intention to sell and they expect him to stay.

Could see an offer of nkoudu and cash maybe tempting a late deal

I'd have thought Sessegnon would do OK in that scenario. Can't see the point of Zaha and Sessegnon coming in at the same time.
