I sort of have the impression that Kono is a backup option....where we have others in mind to fill the slot he would but if those fall through (for one reason or another) then we would look to Kono (especially if he is free in the summer)....there may be interest there, but it doesn't feel like he is the #1 option for us....if he was we would either be buying now or at least trying for the pre-contract agreement.

I think Ayew may fall into the same category.....

In normal situations I agree and I think that would be the case, but Ayew specifically hired a new agent this season to reel him a move to a "big club" as soon as January. So while it's true Marseille would likely not be keen to see him go as of now, I don't think it beyond reason he may be open to the idea of moving in January rather than in the summer.
