Pretty much the strongest XI we could have fielded, all things considered.

Feels like this match is a storm we just have to weather.

If we can snatch a win here, with a couple of Dorrington, Donley, Veliz and Phillips getting game time in the 2nd half, it makes the task against Villa after the international break - with Bentancur fit and Udogie back in - less daunting.

Lo Celso has as much reason to be disappointed in Spurs as we got with him.
Immediately sacked the manager he was bought for, appointed pragmatic managers that didn't want him. Kept him in the summer because he apparently would have a role to play, hindered him from joining Barcelona and Napoli.

I don't know why people are so surprised Lo Celso didn't make the midfield. PEH was always going to play (because he's been fucking great every minute he's played under Ange ffs) - the only question was whether he'd start at CB. That was the only way Lo Celso was coming into a settled midfiel with no minutes behind him...

Totally. No surprise that the team just looks much less fearsome.

That said, I’m confident we’ll put in a reasonable performance - attackingwise anyway.

Nice to see some promising kids on the bench too.

As I’ve said before, I’m just enjoying the season because the players care and the manager seems to be invested in the project. Consequently, the fans are too.

It’s a rare pleasure, that I am not taking for granted, supporting spurs at the moment. I’ve gone back to just enjoying watching us, somewhat even irrespective of the result.

Hopefully we can nick the points. There’s still plenty of quality in the squad, not least with Johnson; who will hopefully get the outing his ability deserves.

Exactly this. Loaned him out twice, constant defensive managers playing him
Out of position.

Ange said he's picked the only defenders available, so presumably doesn't think Phillips is ready for this level.

I have no issue with Ange picking PEH over Lo Celso as I have been happy with his decision making so far this season and he clearly doesn't rate Lo Celso based on his lack of game time this season.

The bigger issue is why Lo Celso is still here wasting a squad place when we could have sold him in the last transfer window and reinvested the money/wages in a creative player that Ange would be happy to put in the team when Maddison was unavailable.

Just win by any means and then we can revaluate after the international break.

I think it could be a high scoring draw 2-2 or 3-3. I do worry about the next few games with the injuries and suspension's. I do hope the bubble hasn't burst and we start to drop a lot of points. We know Ange isn't going to compromise our style of play, very admirable but sometimes you have to adjust to fit the situation. One thing I do know is that it's not going to be boring.

Probably means from first team, with the youths on the bench. 99% of the time you will still start the squad players over youth players when needed.

Just need to hope Bissouma can provide that link from midfield to the forward positions today, and provide some creativity.
