It's not a great chance to close the gap, it's a chance but that's it. Wolves haven't lost at home since September. A win would be a massive bonus here given the respective fixtures this weekend.
You sound like Jose. He's a master at coming up with ready-made excuses to manage expectations

Im like that too, by the way. Expect the worst, so if indeed we lose, at least i wouldve proved myself right. ?

I'm usually pretty positive but I have a bad feeling about this one.
Can't say I'm confident. Although I think its mostly down to knowing that we have some defensive issues and Jose has not had the time/chance to work on that yet.

At least Kane and Dele should be fresh

If this season isn't to be an abject failure then winning games against teams (like Wolves) will be the only way to turn it around. Lot's of cracks papered over in this squad and the fact we're still in the CL means little with our current position in the league.

Win today with the way results have gone this weekend shapes next weekend up nicely against Chelsea.

On paper it is still one of the most difficult away fixtures we have left this season, so while a win would be a fantastic statement, Chelsea also did us a massive favour yesterday by ensuring the gap to them couldn't be greater than 6 points at the end of the weekend. I fancy us more now as that reduces the pressure

No, not normally - I'll just say what I think. I genuinely think it's a tough game and am far more confident we'll beat Chelsea next week than win this one.

Also a bit concerned. Will be good to see if we can step up after Bayern. I went with a draw as Wolves are a really good team.

Where does this narrative come from? I know Jose said it, but he trains the team every day. It's not like they don't have a few extra hours in the day to work on tactics and game management.

I've gone for a 2-2 draw, I hope I'm wrong, but only if I'm wrong in a good way. If we lose this one, and don't pick up maximum points against Chelsea next week it doesn't paint us in the best of lights against who I see as the 3 main challengers for that 4th spot, i.e us, Wolves, Chelsea and Man Utd. To gain 1 point from 9 against these direct challengers in such a short space of time would represent a bad dent in our aspirations.

Wolves will be really up for this and I don't want to see us repeat that Man Utd performance, where we were a poor second to every 50/50 ball and didn't match them for commitment and work rate.

We must be at this from the off, win this and following it up with a win next week sends down a real marker to the other 3 challengers, and hopefully it sends a message out to Man Utd that when they come back to our place for the return fixture, we won't be going at them in the same half arsed way we approached that OT game. We must show our challengers that we mean business, COYS !

I'm clinging to the fact that they were poor at home to Sheff Utd on the back of their last Europa match. Not sure how much they rotated on Thursday but given their relatively small squad i'm hopeful that we will see a few tired heads and legs on their side.

You couldnt be more wrong.

It doesn't work like that. You only get about two days between games and that's spent on opposition preparation and exercises about how you're gunna play and maintain sharpness/real game situations.

The fine details such as working on defensive lines, transitions, individual aspects, all of that is done when you have 4-5 days between games. You just can't focus fully on these aspects.

I coach in a Portuguese club and we had massive issues with our defenders in the defensive line, it took us about 4 preseason games and multiple drills to improve it. It would be much much more harder now if we tried this in a game to game week.

I think we will win.

Our last league performance we were excellent going forward, I fancy us to score goals. 3 -1 Spurs.

Chelsea lost, so we have a great chance to close the gap. We all know whats gonna happen next, dont we?
Yes we know only too well what happens when situations like this are presented to us it normally goes to shit, but we have to take one game at a time and since Jose has come in we have been alright although I don't think we would have won those games under poch.

I think its about midfield, who will be our spark?
Winks to me is same old same old. He needs to raise his game and take more chances (he has the talent) Skipp is young but he has an eye for this game and we grow leaps and bounds if we give him more chances. Its likely Dier and Sissoko will be out there too.

They have much better midfield and fullbacks but Kane, Son, Alli can win games if they play at their best. Tough game.

Winks to me is same old same old. He needs to raise his game and take more chances (he has the talent) Sjipp is young but he has an eye for this game and we grow leaps and bounds if we give him more chances. Its likely Dier and Sissoko will be out there too.

If we win it’ll be because of our attack and in spite of CM not because of it. All we can hope from Dier is he doesn’t perform like a retired rugby player, and manages to win some tackles and interceptions.

Winks and Sissoko on the ball are meh. Such an underwhelming part of our team right now.
