Why haven't we tanned anyone this season?

I dunno about anyone else, but I've gotten a lot more pissed off with spurs this season than last despite the champions league. Arrys right in saying that the champions league is an extra.

The main reason being, we got huge wins against hull (5-1 i think), burnley (5-0 i think), wigan (9-1 obviously) and even man city with an £80m strikeforce, we beat them 3-0

so why haven't we been beating anyone substantially? am i right in saying that when we beat wolves 3-1 is the only time in the league this season we have won by more than one goal? maybe newcastle as well? either way, that wolves game wasn't enjoyable for 75 minutes.

We're a far better side on paper this season apart from up front, where we are pretty much the same.

I dunno about anyone else, but i am still waiting this season for us to tan someone in the league. hopefully itll happen tomorrow at west brom but they are incredibly good under hodg.

i'm just saying, even though we have won some games through amazing fightbacks, you don't half pull your hair out for 90 minutes.

what does everyone else think? does it even matter or are you also missing spurs thumping teams by five or eight goals?

oh, and another thing, how mad was everyone when walcott scored on wednesday? i was absolutely fuming at the defence

Because teams sit back, defend narrow and we often become predictable and easy to defend against. Also our strikers are crap.

Defoe - 2 goals
Pav - 6
Crouch - 7?

A usual Spurs drubbing requires us to have football players up top who can actually put the pigs bladder in the giant tea strainer.

We have three strikers who do not know where the goal is and when VdV shows them they pretend they didn't see so they can legitimately keep skying it or being running offside for every single opportunity they have.

Defoe is the most awful striker to watch IMHO, the lad has no concept of onside, which is why he's been struggling.

agreed p-dawg, rafa shows em where the net is but they just dont listen. i wish we loaned danny sturridge because he is incredibly good.

i just hope we get through this season and can enjoy a more free-scoring, less leaky spurs next season.

We looked like we were gonna give Blackburn a roasting, but they managed to get it back to 4-2

4-5-1

No Ledley - Gallas has been great but Ledley was our leader and had an amazing effect on the rest of the team

Defoe - Injury and then struggling to play with VDV

Hudd - 3 months out.

4-5-1.

Team being too predictable at times to play against, other teams know our patterns of play off by heart it seems at times.

Mr Defoe, who is usually ruthless against teams nearer the bottom of the league, has forgotten how to play football.

What's a bit worrying is that we don't even look like we're going to cane anyone anytime soon.

Usually we might have a few bad results or scrape a few close wins, but you can see that we are just on the verge of giving some team a massive drubbing. You can see the team has it in them.

I thought that when I saw the first game of the season, which we deserved to win 3-0 at least. But since then, we've rarely battered teams, not in terms of real, goal-scoring chances created. Probably the only other games I can remember like that are the Blackpool away game and West Ham at home. Combined we had over 60 - yes SIXTY - attempts on goal in those two games.

Why do we even need to spank another side if we win a good few games and we have a good few that are entertaining?

And there I was thinking this was a thread about Crouch's pasty complexion

I suppose the first game of the season v Man City was the shape of things to come.
We should have spanked them but I thought it was just down to Joe Hart and some off finishing. Not taking chances when we should have has put more pressure on the rest of the team.
I blame 2 poor transfer windows and hope we already have a plan that doesn't involve signing Parker or dealing with Sevilla or waiting till Mancity have finished.

We've been treated differently this season compared to last. Teams are more wary of us and defend much deeper. We haven't been allowed to play our open game except against the bigger clubs - where it's worked very well. But against the smaller teams, they've played us like they would Chelsea or Man Utd, and we haven't got the brute force to pry them open like the biggest teams do. We've got the guile, but with our toothless forwards, we haven't been able to break the small sides down. If we can get that to work (probably with new strikers in tow) we'll be laughing.

We aren't leather workers:shrug:

I dunno.

I give up.

If in doubt, the SC rule is to blame it on Jermaine Jenas:wink:
