Chelse 2004-07 and 13-15, Villa went down in 2016 but had been ever present in the PL era until then.“We do well against jose teams at vp”

I agree. But the example that you gave "Kane dived over Karius in the 2-2 at Anfield but Karius didn't touch him, it doesn't make it any less of a foul just because there's no contact." was nothing to do with obstruction.FIFA Rule 12
If you're not letting your opponent get the ball in an unfair manor then if it's not obstruction then what is it called?
II just want to let everyone know that i haven't replied to their points about the rules on fouls because i don't care anymore and i would like everyone to move on.
I agree and by the same token, no contact doesnt mean no foul. If a player is rushing at you and you got to hurdle him and literally dive over him (instead of y'know get clattered) then thats a penalty/foul.
When GB used to do that, he got booked for diving!
And shouldn't have been labelled that. Evading a challenge that is reckless is just plain common sense
Chris Sutton is in the running for dick of the decade - although the competition is fierce in pundit land!Chris Sutton on 5 Live the other week named Harry Kane as his diver of the decade.
But then before Christmas he thought Kane should be dropped from the England Team in favour of Tammy Abraham.
Perhaps the poor sod headed too many balls.........

No, the rest are BrummiesAre all Villa fans this thourough and well articulated in their pre-match analysis?
Am I right in thinking that that's only legal if the ball is within playing distance? It really isn't. Obstruction was/is a completely different thing. You see it several times a match when players 'shield' the ball and it's rarely, if ever, penalised.
LawsGuys, may I respectfully request that those who wish to discuss the rules of the game, start a separate thread to do so, as it's getting a little messy in here? Thanks.
