That sucks.

I wouldn't be too concerned. Not the size of organisation to be shirt or stadium sponsors. Do appear on a considerable amount of pitchside ads though.

Had they moved, I would no doubt have had access to the full hospitality package available for our home games. Bit gutted TBH.

Blue moon posts from today.

This game will shape the rest of our season.
If we blow it then the League will get priority.
--
I can see a drw tonight or even a 2.1 defeat which wouldnt be the end of the world.
This is one game we can afford to not win between now and the end of the season this is it.
Spurs are a very good side and will be pumped due to new stadium.
Keep it tight first half an hour and let's see what happens.
Come on blues.
--
Spurs play the right way, so at least we won't be treated to ten men behind the ball and hoping to keep it to 1-0 until 80 minutes.

Would like to see Ederson go long and over the press into the corners, get our wingers one-on-one. Concerned about our defensive set-pieces against Kane and Vertonghen.

Must be years of conditioning though, would take a win over Palace this weekend and against Spurs in the league.
--
There are plenty of optimists on the Matchday Forum Prediction thread. One guy even suggests City win 5-1. I wish him well, but very unlikely.
--
I am expecting Lloris to have a stormer and pull of a string or worldies, laporte to get sent off for an Ali dive that Eriksen hits at the wall to deflect past Ederson, a Kane penalty after VAR and then hopefully we can sort ourselves out in the 2nd half.
--
Crazy optimism. If we can get through the first half-hour without conceding, we have a platform.

I'm encouraged, however, by the amount of chances Arsenal were able to create against them recently.

Eriksson has been well off it these last few months, but don't want him being allowed to get his groove on.

I don't know why, but I would not be surprised to see Mahrez playing.
--
Trippier has had an absolutely awful season for them with a lot of their own fans constantly getting on his back, would like to see us stick Leroy on him to cause some carnage and pull other defenders out of position.
--
Sane and Sterling should run riot tonight, but a feeling spurs will grab one. They will press and press high, we wont have the luxury of keeping the ball in their half. Kane will grab a header late in the game but seeing it as a 3-1 city.

No reason why whoever we decide to play out wide can't make it a difficult evening for their full backs.

3-1 win here, win at palace, 2-1 at home in the return leg and a comfortable win against them in the league.

City city city!
--
Son's going to be the one to watch out for imo he's fast and has an eye for goal.

Surprised too see so many good comments about our team. But they are justified, if City don't take this game seriously it could be an embarrassing night for them. And the same goes for us, we need to treat them with the respect they deserve, but without fear.

We literally have nothing too lose seems as everyone has pretty much written us off besides their own fans. I really hope we have a proper run at them tonight, even if we lose the game by some ridiculous scoreline, at least we put in 110% effort.

Highly optimistic I know, but we've shocked better teams (Madrid for example and both Milan teams a couple seasons back) than us before, so its not out of the realms of possibility.

They are probably nervous because if they fuck it up they will be called legends in the media.

When you go through other forums there are always posts about targeting our fullbacks, must been a long time since we had such an obvious weakness.

Yeah wouldn’t totally surprise me if we beat them tonight, but can’t see us keeping a clean sheet and the thought of Sane, Sterling or B. Silva and Mahrez for that matter against our full backs is not a pleasant one.

This is the issue with winning tight games in the CL, you need to not concede goals. Our backline always has a mistake or two in them, every game..

When we have to chase the game yes but we do a very fine job if our backs are to the wall.

IF and it's a very big IF, we can keep them contained, score 2-3 goals and not concede at all then we have a good platform for the return leg.

Even then it might not be enough, just remember the PSG vs Barca and United legs, as well as Ajax vs Madrid.

Doesn't matter how well you play for 90 mins, what matters is how well you play for 180+ mins.

The thing that’s been bugging me a little is the defeatism.

I’m all for being realistic. Anyone who denies that Man City are dangerous is borderline lunatic.

But the absolute certainty of losing that some have been posting is very dispiriting.

No matter how good the opposition, the prospect of victory always exists. I would remind people that in the last few years, Man City have been beaten by the likes of Leicester, Crystal Palace and Wigan.

You don’t need to go out there believing that we WILL win, just that we CAN win.

COYS!

Like Poch says, we have to think differently, that applies to us too. We as fans need to start thinking as winners

Absolutely - we have plenty to be confident about. We've got some key faces back, have had a nice long break before the game and City are beatable. Just need to get the game plan right.

I do get the worries, it's a big game (maybe bigger for us than them to be fair) and City have a wealth of strong options. Their wide players are particularly dangerous when you consider our up/down season in the fullback position but it's all about supply and possession.

Key for me is keeping Silva x 2 and KDB quiet or off the ball as much as possible, so a huge game is needed in our midfield, not just in terms of energy which the likes of Sissoko/Winks have plenty of but in terms of quality distribution. Need Eriksen to step up tonight and pull the strings for us. Keeping the ball and using it well are absolutely vital if we want the win.

Fingers and toes crossed. COYS!

This is very pertinent. I'm hoping tonight, under the lights, the fans will be up for this game big time - but we need that noise, spirit and enthusiasm more consistently i feel.

All well and good being up for these massive games but when you just get silence and disappointment rather than support in the smaller games, it's very disheartening.

I like the idea of this, but we're powerless really...how the fans think has no bearing on how the team plays.
I love the progress we're making as a club, but the only thing that'll change how the fans think is when the team starts winning things.

But how it behaves can. Positive or negative energy created by 60,000 people has an effect on the players - of both teams. The more the crowd is up for it, the better it is for us.

I do agree with this. But it feels like (in the big games) when we go a goal down we (the fans) collectively give up and you can't tell me the players don't feel that negativity. It would amazing if we did go a goal down the fans go absolutely mental.

A bit like the Sevilla game about 10years back under Jol. That was probably the best I’ve heard WHL, the fans had a real siege mentality due to the shithousery from Sevilla and were in full voice and just didn’t stop in the 2nd half. Some of that tonight and it will be epic

Being supportive of the team/up for it, and thinking like winners aren't the same thing though.
Thinking like winners is not something you can just expect of fans who've won very little recently.
