Amongst all the doom and gloom today

This is directly related to this.

lets not forget a win would have put us right up there, AND we have a lot of our best players to come back from injury too.
But yes, it's far from over. 96 points to play for. Hopefully we can get about 62 of those. A lot of work to be done though, even with everyone back, we haven't looked exactly vintage.

I think we all need to take a deep breath and put this preformance behind us, we are playing Champions League football at White Hart Lane this Wednesday, teams like Man City are spending £100M+ to be in the position we are in now. We all need to get behind Harry and the boys and enjoy being in the Champions League. COYS

But its ok so long as Levy has money in his pocket thats all that matters!!!!

When a player like fabiano says i like spurs the next thing THAT a CL CLUB should do is...................BUY HIM!!!!!! And yes you pay him 100k plus a year cause thats the modern GAME!!!!!!

Portsmouth, Liverpool and West Ham did that and landed themselves in financial trouble. No purchase should ever jeopardize the business, as that is what keeps the club running. Whether you like to hear it or not the only reason Tottenham Hotspur exists is because it makes money. If that basic requirement is not met the club would be in danger of collapse. Unless of course the club is financed by a bottomless pit such as City.

Once you offer a player 100K, then you can expect all the salaries at the club would have to be increased in proportion to it or you will have a very unhappy squad.

That's true as well but has been for a fair while, which is why I was hoping for the Marque striker signing who can score goals out of nothing LOL

All points to one person!!! REDKNAPP.........Tactically Clueless

Not necessarily kkemal. ziggy's point above is equally relevant, we haven't signed a better striker, and issues in midfield, which I would argue would be greatly solved had we signed a defensive midfielder to cover the out of sorts Palacios.

Why didn't Sandro play today? He is not available for Champions League so we should have used him today. Never mind same old Tottenham!

Perhaps it has something to do with him only recently finnishing a full season in Brazil and then playing extra time on his debut in our CC defeat

Not at all m8, certain players need to be bought in to move us forward......if not are you telling me we are going to linger and around for the rest of time being happy with 4th????

then is comes down to youth......if you dont want to spend money on wages you invest in youth.......when was the last time we created a world class star???

If you are telling me you are happy to come 4th every year and never push on then we might as well give up...

and how can you compare spurs to west ham and pompy????!!!! With big names comes so much more......like sponsorship!!!!!!

definitely could have used a player in his mould today, someone who would have put himself about.

after nearly seizing up on Tuesday, he mightn't have been up for it today

once again not buying a striker with real quality has cost us as well as harrys recent obsession with 4-5-1 with crouch up front
i never thought id say this but if he was going to play this tactic he should of kept darren bent
all 4 strikers we currently have are all a bit soft and unable to lead the line on there own (defoe probably the best of a bad bunch )
so harry picks the slowest , least mobile , least physical crouch to spearhead our attacks.
too much pressure on our midfield (who were quite awful today apart from modric & vdv) to score , harry needs to switch back to 4-4-2 asap

Like i keep saying Redknapp is tactically lacking!!!

No he is likely ona bonus scheme made up of several clauses my friend so yes the healthier the books the more he earns.......Levy is not a charity worker!! READ HIS CV!!!! its online.

Glad to see you have such a grasp on Levy's contract, the clubs finances and general basic economics.

I'm not going into one because I really can't be arsed, but first of all, the value of the club doesn't change when we but a player, because we lose 10m (for instance) and gain a 10m asset (for instance). VDV was 8m, right? If we were worth X before buying him, we were still worth X after buying him, not X-8m.

As for Levy's pay packet, the only bonuses in there will in all likelyhood be linked to the success of the club. Otherwise, as a director and the chairman, he will be receiving a set remuneration just like anybody else at the club. The club is owned by ENIC, not by Levy, and Levy, ENIC and THFCPLC are three seperate legal persons, ENIC being a company who own Spurs, and Levy being chairman of each, the two roles completely unaffected by eachother.

Not sure of you've ever played football and I dont mean to be rude but strickers have to earn the right to play! that means defending from the front and working your socks off!! you have to set the example with energy and workrate and that started today from the front for west ham!!!

Crouch cant move and Pav is just SHITE!!!!!

But its ok so long as Levy has money in his pocket thats all that matters!!!!

Yes I have played football, although I was a right back  but work rate isn't the bee and end all of scoring goals, decent crosses and through balls would certainly help, albeit I take the movement issue.

Bit of an over reaction re Crouch and Pav though.

Re Fabiano, I don't have privy to Tottenhams financials so can't say if we could afford 100k + a year. I do share your frustration that we could let all last years good work slip away IF it's all about players not coming because of a salary cap, but business is business and Levy seems to be doing a pretty good job so far.

Like i keep saying Redknapp is tactically lacking!!!

Our highest league placing in two decades was earnt by a tactically manager?

So you dislike Levy, you dislike Redknapp, who do you like? I'm assuming not the players, because if you liked any of the players who'd have to like the men who brought them to the club, something which is obviously not the case.

Levy is 110% on a bonus of some kind, he has to be.......you cant judge the MD on performances and where we end......thats the manages contract!!

If we make a profit of X then his Bonus is related to that!!! Simple facts my friend!! Start reading the FT on a daily basis!!!

ZIGGY.............you think we will be ok???? what do you mean? we will stay up? we will grab 4th?? what you on about m8????

Hopefully finish in the top 4 again. Luckily for us it's going to be very tight again, as I said earlier a win today would have put us right up there because of Chelsea and Arse losing. We have got some very good players to come back.

we definitely need to get behind them, and thank allah for sites like this, so we can vent some bit, but the issue is that we want to be playing CL football next year also, and that means performing in the league.

Now, we finished top 4 last season by beating Arsenal and Chelsea at home, and Man City away. We cannot even hope to presume that we will get draws in these fixtures this season, I say that not to highlight our poor form so far this season, but simply that we cannot rely on repeating these performances this season.

We need to be winning games like today, to give ourselves the best possible opportunity come the end of the season.

We will improve, and we will start getting results, but City will in all likelihood improve also, meaning that we will have to do more than last season to finish in the top 4 again

I think Lennon has peaked, he doesn't make the fullback work. His off the ball work (in an attacking sense) is non-existent he doesn't seem to have the brain to create space or move the fullback around, he just hangs around waiting for the ball. Hudd is similarly lacking in the 'football brain' department, seemingly always waiting for rather than making things happen. As others have pointed out there is and has nearly always been a problem with our toughness, both physically and mentally and it drives me up the wall that a procession of managers have never brought in the type of players to rectify it. The need for a real top quality powerful striker is certainly obvious to us fans, so why the club didn't provide the funds for Harry to get one is a mystery to us all. So my friends it looks as though we're going to be tearing our hair, what's left of it, out again this season!!

Still, on a brighter note, at least we get to laugh at the scum for a week.

not necessarily. He orchestrated a 4th place finish last season. We are looking to consolidate 4th again this season, so he is at least tactically adept at that.

I Cant be bothered to type an essay out!!! Redknapp done wonders to get us 4th!!!! But Levy and Lewis let us down big time by not bringing in at least one big name (Striker). I aint liked Levy for ages, you seem to have a short memory! MJ was a manager we should of backed and Levy treated him like SHIT!!! That's reason 1!

Then he employed Damien "I aint got a Fcuking Scooby DOO Comoli".......backed him with untold cash!!!

Now we have a manager that can spot a player and Your MATE levy wont sanction Jack Shit!!!

My reasons for doubting Redknapp are simple! Teams that come to the lane and pack the middle of the park keep taking points off us but Harry keeps playing 442 at the lane!!! Sometimes a change in formation is needed, like a 352 or a 433!!! Then we go away and play 451 with a forward who cant run!! TACTICALLY CLUELESS!!!!!

Keep on about last year..........last season is done and dusted!!!! You are only as good as your last result!!!
