So it's an opinion, but not fact.

It's various people's opinions

Various people also believe the world is flat. An opinion is not fact.

Various people believe the world isn't flat, I'm going by those type of opinions ?

No, people know the world is flat because there is scientific evidence. That is fact not rumour. You are basing your opinions on rumour.

Are you two sat side by side with a bowl of 'shrooms in between you?

True but then west hams squad is no better than ours but they are better managed and could well get top four.
Ability and application. Two different barometers. We have great players but if they underperform for several managers how great are they really?

I would be happy if we peppered their goal with shots and their keeper had played a blinder. But for all that possession, we created next to nothing. Sit on Ndombele and we offer bugger all. So easy to play against.

Missed the game today - any of the more level headed posters able to tell me how bad it was?
It was an even contest until the second half. We were all right first half, although generally we lacked intensity and our attacking patterns were poor. In the second half we tired and became slower and slower. Full backs were limited attacking wise. West Ham scored a good set piece, with help from Kane, and after that we never looked like scoring and didn’t seem that bothered about it.

A scrappy tight derby game but we were overall the better side.
We lost because Kane didn’t do his job at a corner. Having said that once again I insist a man on the post would have stopped the goal.
We didn’t win the game because we have no passion, urgency or intensity. Even when we went behind we never upped the tempo and put any real pressure on them.Despite having the majority of the possession we never looked liked scoring because of a total lack of desire to win. We have a talented enough squad but they completely lack fire in their belly. They very rarely take a game by the scruff of the neck and dominate teams. It’s been like this for a long time - even under Poch we lacked that killers instinct. It’s why we haven’t won anything for decades and we are unlikely to win anything in the near future until we get someone in charge who can change the whole mindset of the club.

I'm not blaming Nuno for the team we put out. He does carry the can with the teams lack of ideas in attack and with how late he tried to change it.

The lack of attacking ideas I understand because the team need time and for some reason Kane Son and Lucas were all dropping deep. At one point we were looking to put a cross in and Kane was closer to the halfway line.

The lack of subs is becoming a confusing trend

Problem is our first XI with his tactics is average but the back ups are even worse. No-one on that bench is good enough or ready yet to make a difference.

Nuno deserves a lot of flack, but to be honest I think most of this group of players wouldn't be motivated by anyone. A lot of them, and I'd include Kane in this based on his effort this season, have been here too long. A lot of the longer serving players need to be moved on, they've grown stale and it's shown since the end of Poch's reign.
True but do we trust Levy to get adequate replacements?

Just back. Fuck me that was frustrating. Now, understand, I'm a survivor of the 70's/80's with all the associated trouble. But to walk back to Stratford having to listen to those clowns totally mocking us was the worst feeling. I could go on all night about the team performance, but when those overpaid tossers can't be bothered to raise an ounce of aggression (maybe Romero aside) and at least try to win the game, to at least shut those mouthy fuckers up.....well I don't know why I'm bothering. Totally fucked off with the whole thing tonight

We started quite slowly but took control after about 10 minutes and looked like the more likely to take the lead - although West Ham posed a threat on the break. Second half both teams seemed to tire around the 70 minute mark and it looked like the match was petering out for a 0-0 draw. But then Antonio snuck one in from a set piece and west ham parked the bus to hang on for victory.

Overall the performance was okay. Miles better than our previous losses.
Cheers for this (and to everyone else who replied with the possible exception of @coopsieyid 's slightly graphic symbolism!  ). One of the reasons I asked, was that I popped into the Nuno thread and that's pretty negative.
