My take hahaha I could write a book on what's happened since it became 2 horse race, in my lifetime I've never known anything like it, almost every player every manager every supporter wanted Leicester to win League, I must stress Leicester have been impeccable throughout this but I trusted in the English League and never dreamt the outpouring of support for the underdog would reach the players and managers of other teams, sadly it did and they were only too willing to voice their support for Leicester, and for this reason I now question the integrity of the English league, it's ok for every fan in the country to want the underdog to win, no doubt I would have too if Spurs were not involved but it's unbelievably unprofessional for pro footballers and managers to voice their support for the very same team while still having them to play, it stinks to be honest, but Leicester and their supporters have behaved with a lot of class and dignity and are worthy winners of the English Premier League,

Couldn't agree more.

Taking the emotion out of it all, chances are Leicester would have gotten the 1 point to win the title anyway, we lost it v Arsenal and V West Brom, however Chelsea players coming out, or punditing, knowing that they are playing both Tottenham and Leicester still... pretty shocking.

Whilst I'm not lilening it to match fixing, it smacks of that. If it came down to the last game of the season, the whole world would know that Leicester would have won their game or get that much needed point - I'd have put a lot of money on it, and I'm positive the odd's would have been ridiculously short (I'm also glad it didn't get to that point).

It's hard to take, as even though we've had a great season, we seem to be the laughing stock yet again...

I've made my views clear on this, so not going into it again; but spot on Mickey.

You, Ossie, and others see it clearly, but for some reason it sat perfectly well with a lot of our fans which is unbelievable really.

Yup. Absolutely nailed on, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that chelsea would have given them whatever they needed to win it on the last day.

Not even a question.

To be fair we all knew Chelsea lack professionalism and the English League when players are purposely underperforming to get a manager the sack.

I'm not sure it sat well with fans, but there was fuck all we could do about it and shouting it from the rooftops would have just sounded like sour grapes.

Better to focus on what we could have done better and improve next season so that we don't have to rely on other teams.

It was never in our hands when Leicester still had Chelsea to play. You can see what that team had done all season to get rid of a manager they "didn't like". They would have no problem rolling over.

Thats probably why the Spurs players did what they did. No matter how much we won we were chasing.

Imagine a scenario where we have nothing left to play for going into the Newcastle game whilst they still need a result to keep them up.

In the week before the match our manager and then players come out and say how much they would like Newcastle to stay up ('for our friend Andros' etc).

What if we were then to put in a limp performance allowing Newcastle to easily get the result they need; surely all hell would break loose?

And yet a similar scenario played out the other week with Leicester and Swansea and little or nothing was said in the media.

You're joking, right? The evidence is on this forum, mate. Just go run through the relevant threads

i think the chelsea players attitude meant our players were so fired up, i actually think we were expecting them to go round kicking us, but they didnt, in effect i think were trying to get our retailliation in first
interesting what Eriksen said, that they normally expect to bully us and we made sure they didnt
not saying its right but long term might work in our favour, teams know we arent going to go away and lie down

Hell, WBA did the exact same thing. Limp performance vs the Scum the week before, Pulis comes out saying he wants Leicester win it, and WBA puts in a 2nd half performance against us like it was a cup final. The following week WBA rolled over at home to Wet Spam.......nothing suspicious here, right?

Would only be a problem in my book if we had to play against Sunderland and Newcastle.
To suggest we bring our best effort against Newcastle wouldn't be wrong at all, to threaten not to bring it in certain games is an embarrassement.

Hope Poch and the players use the blatant Leicester favouritism to create a siege mentality at the club.

Some of the best teams to win the Prem have had this siege mentality, Fergie in particular was a master at creating it and using it to Utds advantage. Jose is another one who uses it to his teams advantage.

Champagne for Claudio's sharks. Well done Leicester. I do feel we've all played a part in this.

Don't forget the role the press played in this.

I remember Fergie after united were mocked for losing a title at Sunderland I think, saying he and his players would remember it. They won the league the following year.

The Italians have a word for this kind of thing...."biscotto"

and we know corruption has been a huge problem in Italian football

A biscotto, some ice cream between two wafers, the wafers can squeeze out the filling without clashing into each other, like two teams can gently arrange to squeeze out a third team.

Infamous examples have come when the only way both teams can get what they want is a draw...and lo and behold a sterile draw comes to be (think Austria v W Germany in that infamous World Cup game)...Or, where one team desperately needs a result, maybe to avoid relegation, maybe to clinch a title or qualification for Europe, but the other team has nothing to play for. The team with nothing to play for will oblige with a biscotto, often, and this is where the deeper corruption gets in, on the understanding that if in the next few seasons they need the favour returning, that will happen.

Where Hazard is right is that the authorities should be super vigilant in making sure this kind of culture does not take root in our game, because if it does there's no way of getting the genie back into the bottle. I have no doubt in my mind if the title race had gone to the last game chelsea would played out a biscotto with Leicester. That ain't no fairy tale.

They wanted a story of the century they could run ad-infinitum.
