anyone that works for the team, isnt 2 dimentional and actually looks up and spots players to create chances insted of dropping his shoulder and blasting it at the keeper from 20 yards, i'ld rather keep bent as 1st choice

I do see your point, Defoe does have a tendency to do this, however you could argue that any striker worth his position would do the same, after all, strikers are there to try and get goals - and right now, i think i would take a blast on target and see what happens rather than a messy dribble leading to nothing.

Also, i'm not saying that Defoe would neccesarily replace anyone as 1st choice, i'm simply saying that Defoe would make a good acquisition for us and would work well with the likes of Bent and Pav.

He just gives another option..............besides, i can't think of many tried and tested premiership strikers out there that we could choose from instead!

Thoughts!?

The reason why bent is not doing well for us is we do no play the counter attack game. When he was with Charton he can like 1/2 the pitch to sprint and outrun defenders. In terms of composure and football intelligence he is really not up to it.

Don't let your prejudices cloud your judgement. Check the stats for this season.
Defoe 24 games - 9 goals. Bent 27 games - 12 goals.
If bent is shit?

I'd fucking love Defoe back. Even in the last few years when he was out the team a lot, when he came on he was always exciting to watch and was a threat. And for people knocking his tendency to shoot on sight, well as far as I'm concerned thats what we fucking need at the minute. Someone to get the ball and smash it at goal.

In his first two seasons for us there was no-one better at scoring goals for us as far as I was concerned.

Chimbo I dont really understand tbh.

I love Chimbo. I still think Defoe is overpriced but we are Spurs and know all about paying 5 million over the odds.

apart from defoe, chimbonda and downing, modric, corluka.

perhaps we will splash some big cash on DECENT players!
