nah ireland is class and by far their best player while everyone else lets him down, definitely should've won young player of the year award. 9 goals and 9 assists this season in a very inconsistent team. modric's not there yet though i think he'll improve a lot next season.
Whoah whoah whoah....as much as I rate Ireland, he's had a brilliant season, he's not on Luka's level at all! You're forgetting that Modric is adapting to a new league, new country and new style of play, even before we signed him he was being raved about across europe and has basically carried Croatia on his back for the past few years.
Ireland fills the stat sheets a little better cos he is essentially City's Gerrard so he's popping up in the box out of central midfield to score goals etc Luka for us is again, adapting to a left wing position/free role and doing a marvellous job, everything good that we do goes through him.
It's a contest between them sure but I'd have Luka everytime.
Plus Ireland lies about his gran dying to get out of club functions :liar:
Yes Modric does look the more classy player but the stats don't lie and this season has seen reland move up a gear and become a top Premiership CM. He is more efficeint than Modric at the moment, but that's not to say Modric won't surpass him.
I think we'd all prefer Modric to Ireland at Spurs, but to say they're about on a level isn't completely absurd.
I don't think you can blame Ireland too mcuh for the lies about his grandma. He was what? 20? and covering up the fact that his Mrs had just had a miscarriage, something which I'm sure you will agree should be kept as personal as possible.
