Now that summer transfer window is done for 2023/24, I thought it would be good to start a thread on Premier League 23/24 season predictions
Based on what we have seen in initial games and the summer transfer, below are my league finish predictions :
Based on what we have seen in initial games and the summer transfer, below are my league finish predictions :
# | Club | Reasons |
| ManCity | City started well. The well oiled machine is difficult to stop. Barring serious injuries, they should walk to another title |
| Liverpool | Quite easily 2nd best in league. They are currently on a 15 game unbeaten run in PL ,starting from April 2023. They will be vulnerable with their new midfield for some time but I expect them to settle well & blow away many teams |
| Tottenham/Arsenal | If Arsenal & Spurs both in Europe, I would have had Arsenal ahead convincingly. But with Spurs not in Europe and Arsenal getting a jammy CL draw, I expect them to go deep into tournament, which is going to upset their league form. Arsenal are 2 injuries away (say Saka Saliba) to come back to their old self. Spurs have similar injury concern, being light weight on CBs. But one game a week and very realistic possibility of additions in Jan, could mean Spurs finish in CL ahead of all those teams in CL, EL & Conference league participations |
| Arsenal/Tottenham | |
| Brighton | Brighton's additions in this window of Fati,Joao Pedro, Dahoud, Baleba, Igor, Milner gives them great balance. Also Mitoma, Ferguson coming into their peak means even if there is EL schedule, Brighton should be able to weather them well and finish 5th |
| WestHam | Their addions are under the radar- WardProwse, Kudus, Alvarez really look great additions. Gives them lot of fire power & variation in how they could setup. It sucks to say, Other than us, WestHam are the real darkhorses this season to do some thing great this season |
| Villa | Good additions, solid manager. Can expect them to take lot of points from good teams |
| Brentford | No Europe. They dont lose easily. They will keep taking points from all teams. Toney can come in Jan and give them another legup as well, from goals or thro a sale and replacement of 40m+ |
| Newcastle | Meh season. Lot of draws last season. With tough CL games ahead, they could have a mediocre season |
| Chelsea | No build up play, no creativity , no forwards who can finish. They are in for a painful season |
| United | No build up play, already issues in squad with likes of Sancho. Unable to move players like Maguire. Add a tough CL campaign. United in for a shocker of a season. Only caveat is Hojlund. Incase, if he starts well & scoring, United season could turn |
| Forest | Lot of very good additions - Sangare, Montiel, Elanga. One of the few teams that can setup & play low block. They will keep gettign enough results and stay midtable |
| Palace | Typical palace. Midtable |
| Fulham | Paulinha staying till Jan could be a blessing. Should do enough to stay in midpack |
| Bournemouth | There are other worse teams than them. Should do enugh |
| Wolves | Will be in relegation fight but there is enough to stay up |
| Sheffield | Sheffield start been not bad. Narrow defeats to City, Forest , Palace. But atleast they are fighting |
| Burnley | Going to be painful season with lot of beatings. Kompany showed his naivety with his sub changes vs Spurs. |
| Everton | For a team that doesnt create, they sold one of their top creators Iwobi. They are doomed |
| Luton | They will finish 20th easily. Would be shocked if they finish above 20th |
