do we really need Sissoko? Livermore looks like the type of player that could, with time and experience, become our new Palacios. He might not have the build of Palacios, but he has the determination and pace which is always a good start. Give him a run in the league cup and see what happens when he returns from derby.

So your comparing some one who is already in the french squad at 19, to someone who has only played in 5 competetive matches in his life (all for MK Dons)? Having watched Livermore a few times I am fairly confident in my opinion that he wont make it as a spurs player, might make a good championship player though. I'm sure others who have watched him at youth level will back me up on this

I disagree with your opinions on Livermore, the kid had a longterm injury layoff and has bounced back, impressing in pre season. I rate him equally as highly as Parrett and Bostock, I think this current loan spell at Derby is important for the lad, if he can impress then he can feature strongly in the first team squad next year.

Livermore isnt good enough I'm afraid. Not technically good enough or a good enough passer. His attitude is however spot on and that will get him a decent career at Championship level.

Anyway, Sissoko is a bit expensive and I'm not sure we have the money / prepared to spend it.

with sissoko and young i think we will have a side to challenge even the title.

From the smiles of the players even on the bench i can see that the liverpool game had a very positive effect. Think we'll be very strong for hull

Have never seen Sissoko play, BUT, if Harry is willing to pay a lot of money for him, I think he must have seen him himself and had scouts at many games, so if Harry rates him that highly you would have to go with his judgement.

On Young, sorry but I just don't think he meets the hype, and certainly not 25 mil - I saw him play for England last week and he was rubbish, likewise V Wigan he was just average at best! he has had flashes of brilliance, and looks like a prospect - but we all ready have a few of those on the team (Hudd, Dos Santos, Tarrabt, O'Hara, Naughton, even Jenas) BUT, we didn't pay 25mil for them...............sorry for me, NO SALE!!!:shake:

If Villa want £30m for Young, then we should be asking a minimum of £15m for Jenas.

As well as the Hudd played on Saturday, he still needs to be a little more mobile. That said, it was bloody great seeing him get a full 90 minutes.

In your update [314] you suggested we would be bidding £3.5m for Muamba. Did your source pass that on as fact or opinion? It's seemed like a unrealistically low value when he was only signed by Bolton a year ago for around £5m and is one of their first team players that they wont want to lose. The £11m you mention in this piece of info seems far more likely and I doubt we would be particularly surprised to be quoted such a value.

I think that alot of you have missed possibly the best piece of ITK all summer. The bottom paragraph, which says that the team spirit is fantastic, that for me means so much in challenging for anything this season.

Look at Everton on saturday, they were in dissary, alot of it I should imagine is to do with the Lescott scenariao, same as with us with Berba last season, and Everton relyed so much on team spirit. it oges such a long way.

Such a far cry from the start of last seasons campagin. Harry, I thnk you are doing a wonderful job.

I would be excited by the prospect of Sissoko for sure. I've never seen him play, so i'd be interested to see what the fuss is about. The money doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'll leave that to Levy  All i want are more quality players at the club. However, not at the expense of Jenas. I dont understand how a 19 year old in his first season in England could replace our most experienced midfielder. Would much rather see us replace O'Hara and Bentley if we need to raise the money. If we could somehow get Young and Sissoko though, i'd be happy with Jenas going. Of course, if we can afford to keep O'Hara and Bentley too, i would be delighted.

Lennon----Palacios----Modric----Young
Giovani----Sissoko----Huddlestone----Bale

Fact... Looks far too low now though?

Perhaps we were driving a hard bargain and were prepared to pay higher

Cheers Rebrab. Doesn't sound like the most endearing negotiating technique.

got to say i reallly don't want young. In our formation it would be a total waste of him and of modric. Young needs to play in a 433 and I'm astounded MON doesn't revert back to that formation.

How many times have you seen Sissoko play ? As many times as Huntelaar ?

As I've said in the Sissoko player thread, I've seen a bit of this fella and all I can say is that he would be a very very good addition. Toulouse are a team that rely on team ethic, team spirit and organisation.

This kid is a real busy **** and can play a bit too. He doesn't spray 40 yard passes ever 5 minutes, but niether does Huddlestone, besides this type of game is largely inefective in the EPL where the need for a quick brain, quick feet and dynamism - especially in a 442 playing team - is vital.

I have never seen him play I admit but I would never pay £18m for anyone unless they were an established international, he is not, has he even played for France yet ?

The guy has potential but so did Kaboul, we were talking about him as the new Marcel Desailly and went and paid upwards of £8m for him so atm all I "see" with this guy is a kid with potential, I would only pay £18m for a proven finished article

Young I would pay £18m for, this guy I wouldn't, £10m plus maybe a few million in add ons when he has proved himself

I still can't believe we've only got 3 points from one game.

Great news about the team spirit.
