Sissoko seems a little more likely now, no other teams are willing to pay for him which gives us a strong bargaining position... However if the deal does go through expect it to be for around 18m with the money raised from Jenas. Also, we are still trying for Young and though it looks very unlikely, expect it to go to deadline day.

We have given up on Muamba, Bolton wanted 11m!

Also, though it isn't really ITK I would like to say that the team spirit is supposedly (according to people on the inside) fantastic at the moment :)

Keane's wages are a bit too high for us at the moment, we're trying to convince him to take a drop in them... We said he hasn't justified earning that much yet on his return and he and his agent weren't that happy.

It's not major news, make of it what you will. Probably (and hopefully) he'll take something like a 15 % wages drop but have a goals/assists/appearance bonus - so that he earns more if he scores more ect.

Thanks Rebrab. Any idea of how much we would sell Jenas for, assuming we do sell.

Your guess is as good as mine, but I was told that it would cover "most of" the Sissoko fee if they both happened, so the mails 7m suggestion is laughable. I'd guess around 12-14 million.

And as for timescale as asked above (I'm not good at multiquoting ) I'd say that the Sissoko deal could go down to the wire, rings to much of Arshavin (sorry Fazza!) to me, but hopefully we've learned from our mistakes

We want ASAP, but want value as well, so it's difficult to say at the moment. And before people say "get your wallet out Levy" bear in mind it's an inexperienced French kid we're talking about here, no matter how talented, so Levy is being far from tight

Is it the common consensus that Jenas isn't actually injured but being lined up for a move?

£18m for Sissoko would be a pisstake

£10m at best I would pay for him and even that is generous for a 19 year old kid

really hope we get Sissoko. him and Young and we would of had an absolute dream summer. interesting about the team spirit; you very much get the sense that that is the case.

any ideas on the thinking behing Young redrab? obviously good player but where does he fit into a starting eleven bearing in mind the success we have had with two 'tough uns' in the middle and Modric in a free role on the left?

I really hope we don't sacrifice the balance we have establish to try and shoehorn him into the team.

Cheers for the Info.

If Sissoko is as good as people are saying, and what Harry thinks he could be then i dont see the problem paying the money for him.

Just Sissoko would do me

If we do get Sissoko, I hope it will not mean much fewer games for Huddlestone. Ideally, Sissoko would partner Palacios away, with Huddlestone playing 60-70 min in most games at home - but would Sissoko be ready to accept this, given his comments how he is "happy to stay one more year" in France?

18m is a major bargain for sissoko but hopefully he could be a great energetic partner for palacios.

18m  This is one of the few times where I hope Levy keeps the wallet closed. (Unless it's something like 8m + 10m in add-ons, and we somehow screw Villa out of at least 16m for JJ, in which case I'll be happy.) We've had enough amazing prospects at Spurs over the years for me to be more than wary of yet another 'brilliant' youngster, and the price tag will be a huge burden on him.

And where are we getting the money for Young? He'll be at least 22m, probably more like 25m with the inflated market. He looked remarkably uninterested against Wigan so I do think he's been unsettled, but MON won't sell except possibly for ludicrous amounts, which they won't be able to do anything with if it's the last day.

with sissoko and young i think we will have a side to challenge even the title.

From the smiles of the players even on the bench i can see that the liverpool game had a very positive effect. Think we'll be very strong for hull

I think the bit about team spirit being fantastic is clearly wrong.
I heard it is t'riffic.

I think Sissoko would be a good addition but not at the price mentioned. I think Levy should try and wanggle a deal that sees us pay alot less but let them keep him for this season se he gets that little bit more experience.

I would not want to sacrifice JJ for him if that could be the case because experience in the EPL is just as important imo than ability.

Do the deal that lets him stay for the moment and next summer maybe offload JOH and gradually bring Sissoko into the side.

We can't accomodate more than one big signing in the side at present.

And we couldn't get Young anyway. Sissoko will do just fine.

How many times have you seen Sissoko play ? As many times as Huntelaar ?

As I've said in the Sissoko player thread, I've seen a bit of this fella and all I can say is that he would be a very very good addition. Toulouse are a team that rely on team ethic, team spirit and organisation.

This kid is a real busy **** and can play a bit too. He doesn't spray 40 yard passes ever 5 minutes, but niether does Huddlestone, besides this type of game is largely inefective in the EPL where the need for a quick brain, quick feet and dynamism - especially in a 442 playing team - is vital.

still dont see young happening but can believe we're still trying. i still don't know enough about sissoko but i hope it happens because i trust harry when it comes to signings - he's gotta be the bollocks.

reckon we'd get £10m for jj too, so maybe £12m up front for sissoko with add ons, sure it will be a fairly decent deal since it's levy we're talking about.

can certainly believe the bit about team spirit aswell judging by the way the players are celebrating, even those on the bench for the BAE goal!

Don't even start saying things like that! Way to jinx us before we're barely even out of the gate!
