Another call up to the full Irish squad although with 39 names it’ll be having a bit of a trim.

One of the games is a friendly against New Zealand so he might have a chance of playing in that. If he is kept in after they cut it down.

Going by McCarthy quotes. Troy is probably going to play against New Zealand......”could be a good time to see how he copes with the step up”.

It would be exciting to see him get some Premier League outings. Still too young and raw, though, yet.

Really needs Eriksen’s spot on the bench.

Beyond me why Parrott wasn't on the bench and getting minutes in games like Palace and Red Star.
Why play Kane for every minute of every game when we could take him off at 3-0 and give a youngster some minutes?

There is a lot of hype around the guy. I tend to agree we should be cautious. If he lives up to it he’ll get a lot of top level football over the years. If he makes the bench a handful of times this season I’ll be delighted.

There is, and he will, but it might not be here if he doesn't get the impression he has a path to the first team.

He's literally our only other proper striker beyond Kane and he doesn't even make the bench, doesn't inspire much confidence.

Realistically he might get minutes in the early rounds (or round) of the FA Cup, then what, wait until next pre-season where he can impress and then not be seen again?

We don't have an abundance of youth banging on the door, I think more could be done to inspire the few that are close, or we risk losing them.

After the Colchester game poch said it will be a year or two before he's ready so can't see him getting much game time, if any, unfortunately.

Given pochs history with youth players he likes he won't be loaned out either so little chance of him getting 1st team football for anyone.

Looking at how this sort of strategy has hurt KWP and possibly same is happening to Skipp with 2 league minutes this season, can't say I'm too hopeful for Parrott.

His route to the top has been on fast forward in the last 6 months. He was meant to be playing in the u17 tournament in the summer but got called up by the u19s and then the u21s. The full debut is around the corner and he had the preseason and Colchester game. He could only dream of being in this position a year ago. Who knows what another 6 months / a year will bring.

Now is not the time to start talking about a youngster getting a shot in the XI just because the team is under performing and him doing good in the Under 21's. The senior players need to endure and do better
Parrott needs to progress and keep a stable performance before we can talk about him getting a shot in the XI. Maybe a loan in January to a League One club could do him well as he is still a raw talent and need to try playing against harder opposition than what the U23 offers..

He should definitely have been on bench when we had Skipp Dier wanyama earlier this season. His problem now with everyone fit is even established players are gonna miss out on bench places. If we play a 4231 you’ve likely got Skipp wanyama Dier Winks Lo Celso Sessegnon lamela moura plus Parrott fighting over 4 or 5 likely CM attackers bench places.

Dortmund and Bayern are after him. He does not have to wait, because the decisions here are made based on his age, not his performance. I remember Messy when he was 17 years old. He was nowhere near to the XI. It is a bull shit, that the young players should be better than experienced, they need a game time. It is a risk. If you do not want to take the risk, then never buy young players.
