If Parrot were to play for us it’s either in Kane’s place??? When will that happen
Or in the 10 position behind Kane.
No point playing him wide.

Kane hopefully won’t have to play every 90 minutes. Can be subbed off if we are ever comfortable or more likely Parrott could feature if Kane picks up an injury. Also, bit of cup time. Should we last any amount of time in the FA Cup. Or Europa...

Cant just dismiss a player as he has an established player in front of him. Imagine we shipped out Ledley King because we thought that Campbell fella had that place nailed down for the foreseeable. Not that I expect Kane to go that way but the unknown needs to be prepared for.

He can play even with Kane as he did during the preseason. FFS, if we can't find a decent place in the squad, another team will do it. Dortmund found the palace for Sancho, by the way.

We pretty much play 2 up top most games. Son and Parrott looked fantastic together Vs juventus in pre season

On top of the wages? No wonder he went there... ;)

Now is not the time to start talking about a youngster getting a shot in the XI just because the team is under performing and him doing good in the Under 21's. The senior players need to endure and do better
Parrott needs to progress and keep a stable performance before we can talk about him getting a shot in the XI. Maybe a loan in January to a League One club could do him well as he is still a raw talent and need to try playing against harder opposition than what the U23 offers..
I don't think many are calling for him to be starting, but would like to see him on the bench at least given he's literally the only other striker in or around the squad.

Not that it'd make much difference I guess as the most action he'd get would be 90 seconds and injury time.

5-0 up and Harry doesn’t get subbed off.

I say this as a plastic Paddy but I am so so so excited about this boy

I wouldn't get too excited mate just yet. He's a real talent but apart from Edwards we haven't had a young attacking talent come through the ranks so it's hard to know how Poch will handle him.
It's a real shame we went out of league cup as that would of given him another start, hard to see where he gets some game time unless we are qualified by last match in CL or if we get a very low level team in the FA cup at home

I agree but purely from an Ireland point of view he is probably the most talented player that we have called up to the senior squad since Robbie Keane. Probably

Completely agree he is but that's why I'm so cautious because it would be a double kick in the balls if he doesn't fulfill the promise he has shown.

Fair enough - good point. He may be up and running for Eire before he is for Spurs but if you look at the Irish squad at the moment - is that any surprise. I do believe he has, in Poch, a good voice and mentor but I agree that the likeliehood is that our manager won't rush him in. Having said that - a little caution is not a bad thing. I still think Poch has been burnt and affected by what he said about Edwards.

Mick has made noises that he won't pick players like him if he's not in the club side but agree that getting into that starting 11 is a lot easier than ours.
Just hope that Poch doesn't waste him like he has with KWP and seems to be doing with Skipp - not willing to loan them out as wants to train them himself but also won't play them in games. If that happens to Parrott Poch will be hated by all Irish fans.
Hopefully if / when Kenny comes in after next summer his chances of playing for national team will increase regardless of whether he's getting regular minutes for us.

Parrott earns senior call up
Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed to FAI.ie that Spurs teenager Troy Parrott will be promoted to the senior Ireland squad for the first time for the upcoming games against New Zealand and Denmark.

4th Nov 2019
McCarthy will retain Parrott, an unused substitute in Tottenham’s Premier League draw at Everton on Sunday, when he names his final squad for the two matches on FAI.ie on Thursday.

Get in lad! Glad to see he is getting a crack at international level at such a young age. He needs to keep working hard and hopefully his time will come with us.

He is such a young guy and has the world at his feet, head down, work hard and make it impossible not to be noticed.

I Remember Robbie Keane's debut (for Ireland), I think he was 17. He was very impressive. They sometimes need a break! Having said that I’m an old fart and know nothing,

I was there for Liam Brady’s debut too in 1974. What a player!!!
