I should be able to make both. Will be good to put faces to names... that or I might never return to Spurs Community again...

To clear up any confusion I can't make the 28th.

OK with apologies to those who can't make it, let's say it's the 28th. I've asked the club if our SA game will be broadcast in the UK that day, not heard back. So if all else fails we'll just have to meet, talk to each other and drink beer. And laugh as Flatters loses all his pocket money in a pub quiz machine.

Now open for venue suggestions. Stoof has already said Quinns (if the game is on), so that's an option.

Yab-a-dab and indeed doo.

So we are now meeting on July 28 in a London pub that has Setanta Sports. That should narrow it down. I'll see if I can find out whether Quinns has it.

Otherwise the Sports Bar in Haymarket is quite good. Lots of screens - and it has beer. Also may be easier for some to reach as it's more central London - Picadilly Circus/Leicester Square area.

I called the Sports Cafe in Haymarket and they said they'd show the game. They could give us a room but we would have to pay a minimum of £10 a head for a buffet. But the guy reckoned if we just turned up we could get a table near a screen.

So I think we should do that. I'm still trying to work out the right ko time, as the Vodacom site says 3.15pm, but is that 2.15pm here as the official site says? I thought the time difference was 2 hours.

What's in the Buffet?

Birthday cake. It’s your surprise party but you’ve ruined it now. Hope you’re happy :snooty:

I can make the 28th although the game will be shown in my local :)

It sounded less than thrilling to be honest, and the manager pretty much talked me out of going for it and suggested just getting a table near a screen instead.

A disadvantage of the buffet option is that we would have to book the exact number in advance and still pay the £10 even if someone didn't show. So I would suggest ordering a la carte, or as it's an American-themed place, cart.
