What a great performance from the lads today. during the first half, especially the first 30 minutes, we played some fantastic, orgasmic football. Adbayor was unplayable during the first half hour and both him and Saha looked impressive throughout the match.

Interesting that Kranjcar has played in our 2 best home performances this season (Liverpool and today). Not saying that he deserves a starting place over Lennon, but gives us a great extra option

Saha is prone to injury so I wouldn't discount JD quite yet, besides Ade's still only a loan and we're still a little light up front.

I will be amazed and very dissappointed if we don't make some major moves come the summer, I think that was more what people were frustrated about. Saha in for Pav made sense (he can head a football and everything!), but it is very short term and doesn't show too much ambition, when he's fit he's good. The Ledley of the strikeforce.

What a great performance, great atmosphere, great result.

WE WANT YOU TO STAAAAAAAAAYYYY-AAAAAAAY-AAAAAAAAAY!

What about poor old Defoe when VDV is fit and Saha/Ade partnership work like today...?

We will have a great bench when all 4 are fit, and if one of them is not fit we will still have a good pair in the team and one on the bench.

Tha's the idea of a squad !

What about him? I'd rather finish 3rd or higher and him be unhappy, than finish 5th and us starting him.

For once, he's lived up to his billing as our most clinical finisher, so I wouldn't be quite so dismissive.

How many did Lennon get in the 9-1, mate? Was it just the 3?

He had three assists in that game.

4 - Emmanuel Adebayor is the first player to assist 4 goals in a PL game since Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal v Blackburn in Oct 2009. Feat.

I'm not sure if that's 100% correct though, didn't Nasri have four assists against us in August?

Really good performance and good result! Adebayors best game for a couple of months and was impressed with Saha!

I wish I had said it on here at the time, but when we played Everton not long back I said too my dad at the game that we could do worse than look at bringing Saha in in the transfer window.

We've upgraded Pav, we made some cash and have a guy who will accept being rotated regularly.

Great piece of business.

Yeah couldn't agree more mate...

Great performance. First half was brilliant, second a walk in the park. Ade was unplayable for 45 and merely world class for 45.

I have been saying for a few months now that we would thump someone sooner or later :)
Support for Harry was great too.

Late into this thread, all I can add about today is that was fantastic, especially first half.

Adebayor was different class at times, I gave him a fair amount of stick the other night but only because I know what he is capable of and he showed it tonight. Need this form for the rest of the season.

Great way for Saha to introduce himself, also may have left us with some nice selection dilemmas in the near future when everyone is fit. I've had a bit of a feeling for some time that Ade has looked at his best for us when he has a proper strike partner as it allows him to drift around in the knowledge that there is someone providing a target through the centre and tonight has reinforced that opinion. Its good to see though that we have a number of players who have come in and staked their claim for a run in the team and can be called upon when needed.

Very pleased for Kranky today, I hope if he keeps playing like this he will keep his place when Lennon comes back. Saha I feel is still a short term solution, we should still look for a striker in the summer.

Been stuck up in the middle of Whoopwhoop unable to watch any football but got the missus to record the game for me.

Sure looking forward to kicking back with a Scotch in hand to be thoroughly entertained by the Great Entertainers.

Saha, when fit, can offer much more than Defoe.

Aerially, and in terms of hold-up play, that goes without saying, and he's arguably more effective in the box. However, as I posted earlier (possibly in this thread), this season Defoe has for once actually lived up to the usually-nonsense claim that he's our most clinical finisher, and one could hardly complain about the effort he's shown this season. He put in a very impressive cameo after he came on yesterday, and really ought to have been awarded a penalty. It's great to have them both.

I realise that Defoe is coming back from injury, but wondered how he felt to see Saha start ahead of him yesterday. He may feel he's being marginlised and potentially could consider his future lies elsewhere.

We need a fully focused and hungry Defoe for the remainder of the season, but too many cameo roles, however good, may not be to his liking for much longer. and performances may suffer as a consequence.
