Happily take the 3 points.
Not so happy with a lot of other stuff.
Hopefully MoPo's early season learning curve is in full acceleration mode.

Made it harder than it should've been but a scrappy win, 2 DM's just shouldn't be played at home, regardless of Wanyama coming up with the winner.

Really liking the look of Janssen so far, good work rate, attitude, nice touches and hold up. Looks a handful for the defenders all the time.

Much better than last week, but someone needs to tell the players to stop trying dribble past a wall of player. As we are constantl;y losing the ball through this, and Lamella is the worst culprit. He just needs to stick to playing quick balls rather than trying to be a dribble master.

So so frustrating.

Janssen, what good game he had today, I think he will be become be very special up front. I like him.

Fortunate win. But it is clear that we do not have a replacement for Dembele that Poch trusts. Seems like we need that player more than we need another AM.

Thrilled to have gotten the 3 points in the end and we started brightly enough but the fact that the entire Palace defense got caught ball watching on one corner does not negate how horribly insipid we were from minutes 30-80. Poch very obviously does not trust Mason or Carroll in the least if he refuses to bring them on when we were so desperately calling out for more invention from CM.

There are way too many matches on the fixture list which are unsuited for the Dier/Wanyama pairing, it simply cannot be our only alternative to Dembele. We have to address this somehow, whether it's through Dele being dropped back to No. 8, through Winks being promoted or through the transfer market I don't care, but our options today don't fucking cut it.

Great that we got the 3 points, but we really do labour at times, not set up right today imo.

We've got some guile in Eriksen and Lamela, which we used to lack, but I honestly feel we need more pace/liveliness in our front four - balance isn't right.

We've a better midfield and much better defense than Liverpool for example, but they've got a better balance of skills and attributes in their front four now imo. Mane providing the pace and directness, the other two the guile and creativity. We lack a Mane type imo. Add that and we'd become more clinical I think.

Performance not great - but very few teams hit their stride in the first few games. Needed the points regardless of how we get them. On to the next game.

Can we let wanyama settle in ffs.
It's ridiculous.
Let's not forget how long it took dembele.

End of the day we deserved the win and we won.

Happy days.

Spurs go marching on!
