My old man’s logic is that we’re better off losing pre-season games as it flushes out the problems early. I’ve felt the same about our recent games. Better that everyone’s well-sighted on the many problems we have to address.

Leeds won't have an easier game all season, we're mentally and physically checked out with nought to play for in the last game.

They overloaded against both of our full backs second half. Emerson & Davies got zero support from Son & whomever was RWF.
Brave and bright from Frank.
Mason did nothing to react.
But the attitude and work ethic second half was truly appalling, sums this group of players up right now.
With them knowing Mason won't be the coach going forward some are slacking or letting past reputation get in the way.

To avoid that this club needs

This club needs;

1. A DOF in place who delivers a plan on how the team is going to play and the kind of characters needed to suit it.

2. A coach who suits this to a T AND is told that HIS principles with the team are king. Any player who doesn't follow them is out the door.

3. Young players who have a lot to prove and are hungry to become the next Vertonghen, Kane, Son etc.

Id start by shoving Lucas, Lloris, Dier, Lenglet, Sanchez, Perisic, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, Son out the door.

Promoting a couple of younger players to join Gil, Sarr, Skipp, Udogie, Porro etc.

Sign some better technical players and 2 CBs - one quick and powerful one who can play in a high line and a calm and composed one.

I don't even think we need to spend a lot.

Alex Scott and other gems are about and can be picked up for a good fee.

No need to be splashing 50 or 60m on players.

The only player Id do that for is a genuinely brilliant CB or GK.

Whoever the new manager is his no 1 job is to get the players properly fit and motivate them to put in a full effort.

Practically every match I can remember for months, the opposition have raced around pressing and when on attack swarmed forward. I can not believe that the running stats for our oppositions don't swamp ours. Brentford pressing got them goals today..numerous times we have been pressed and conceded this season. Yes poor defenders, but inevitably few others are running to offer a place to pass....because since Poch (before the last period)
we don't do the required running.

You hear all the time 'What are we going to do without Kane's goals ? Yes, it's a loss but with an energetic press we will get many more opportunities to score.
Son is a concern with regard to this new energetic Spurs dream. Yes he gets an occasional worldy, but if we had a properly pressing forward in his place (like every fucking team we play against) we may find we do better, certainly now he's stopped scoring for a season. I also noted that a coupla times he was through on goal a Brentford defender ran past him to defend. Has he slowed down ?

So, for me its time to restart a team building process. Grab the 100 mill for Kane and get skilful tireless, enthusiastic young players (Like every other fucking team we play) and bring Sonny on late in the match when opposition have tired. How much did Brentford's team cost ffs. Go find the numerous bargain gems that other teams regularly seem to find. WTF is wrong with our scouting ? Look elsewhere than expensive players that other well funded teams are after.

Another positive from having a team with movement is that there will always be a pass on for the man on the ball. Sonny enrages me with his regular static off the ball routine.

So I'm looking for young willing players to be signed and a Manager that can motivate and drops the lazier players No Matter where they are in the hierarchy.

Just got back, livid. At HT we should’ve been 2 or even 3 goals up and you could feel that Brentford would eventually find a way through our back line. Indeed they did, we crumbled and were well beaten in the end. Some fans around us were waiting for any encouragement to lay into Sanchez, however there’s at least 4 ahead of him that they could’ve had a go at today. What’s that now, 7 points in the last 9 games? Shocking…

Massive dose of sense in this post imo...and yes, our ancient forward line needs work, no automatic starts for Son when he doesn't put a shift in ...or maybe sell as suggested above while there is still value there...and yes no need to go compete for the 70 mill players...and yes, emphasis on young, enthusiastic players. Agreed.
The worry is that we may have a friendly, timid manager arriving, concerned about our shitty club hierarchy. It's why for me the brute force of a Kompany might have been helpful.

Well here we are home from the game.
A fitting end to this disappointing season, if we'd taken the chances we created we'd have been 2 or 3 clear by half time but we didn't and they took the ones they created and that's our season in microcosm.
I was pleased we brought on Lucas Moura and what a lovely reception he got, that was the right thing to do and to be honest he had more gumption about him than any of the others so I don't think he brought us down at all.
I was concerned the atmosphere might be toxic but fortunately it wasn't, in all honesty I'm not sure anyone could be bothered enough to get angry.

Have to hope Harry is only set on breaking Shearer’s record now and feels his best chance is in a settled environment.
My feeling is that he’ll run down his contract, bag another 20-ish next season, and then replace Haaland at City when EH goes to Madrid next summer. Kane will catch Shearer no problem at all at City.

Could not agree more. Don't see him signing a new contract this summer but don't see him leaving either. With how bad the current situation is, it would be very difficult for the club to force him to go even if they wanted the money. He holds all the aces.

This team is made up of losers and I reckon no one can fix this problem with such shambolic management and mediocre players. I feel sorry for the fans who pay expensive tickets to watch the matches, only to be disappointed repeatedly.

Went out for the afternoon when we were I-0 up. On the way home at 5pm on Great Hits radio, come the sports section we got a special mention for our collapse to Brentford, we got singled out for being a big joke. That's what the footballing public see us as now. I laughed at the joke, annoyingly so did my wife.

A fitting end to a shit, boring and throughly unenjoyable season. I was looking forward to the game today as a chance to say goodbye to some of our players but this team just drains the life out of you. Never mind, just crank up the music even louder at full-time to drown out the dissent. And as for the ‘lap of appreciation’, the best way to show you appreciate us is to actually fucking run a bit on the football pitch. Good riddance this season.

Oh well at least we will have a better go kart track than Brentford. Playing actual football is old hat. The future Tottenham Hotspur football club fan will be more interested in go karting, concerts and fine dining. We are the old legacy fans who will be able to remember a time when we played actual football.
As some clown on here posted a few weeks ago. We are now an ‘entertainments business’ rather than a football club. Fuck me.
