This caught my eye from that Burt article:

'There is strong support for the Argentine at the club. He is popular – even if there have been grumbling from some senior players (who should be careful as their continual complaints have not gone unnoticed) – but needs to get some results starting with Saturday’s away trip to Hull City.'

Interesting in light of the rumours we've heard.

Grumbles are normal. I dont think its much else. There is probably some very unhappy bunnies as 'some' realise they will be/are probably be looking for a new clubs.

A small thing that annoys me in the DoF/no DoF debate.

(Examples exaggerated)

* Spurs have a DoF, buys many players, things are not smooth sailing - taken as evidence that the DoF model is flawed and moronic.

* Liverpool have a good old fashion man'ja, buys many players, things are not smooth sailing - not taken as evidence that the almighty manager model is flawed and moronic.

Everyone loves to talk about "projects" nowadays. Well in reality a football is more like a Programme and it's the Manager that should be the Programme Manager with Project Managers (including the DoF) reporting into him. How the Manager then chooses to structure the rest of the hierarchy (e.g. Scouting, Youth Development reporting into him or DoF) should be up to the Manager.

Sevens - you must be a project manager mate lol

Right then, your challenge is to incorporate an Agile, Scrum or Waterfall analogy into your next post - GO!! ;-)

I am indeed a PM, but I don't specialise in development so only pay lip service to those methodologies! In all honesty I cringe when I hear Managers/Head Coaches in football talking about things being a "project" because it's utter bollocks!

Given Mitchell worked previously with Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino then it has been concluded that a new axis is emerging at the club – with Baldini frozen out. Except Pochettino was a Baldini recommendation as well. The two get on well and have a mutual respect.

LOL yeah right.
If that is true, then Baldini will be sacked, if Pochettino gets sacked.

Agree with you. There's no way that Pochettino was a Baldini suggestion. Levy has seen Southampton getting wanked off and wanted a bit of their famed manager, when that didn't work out as hoped and Southampton actually improved and got wanked off more, Levy wanted another slice of them in Mitchell. Levy is constantly scrabbling around for the key ingredient and seems to have lost all semblance of long term strategy.

It's because the football industry in this country is so resistant to change. It's one reason why we've only won 1 World Cup.

There's an element of what does jonny foreigner know, we invented the game and all that bollocks in both the media and at the governing bodies who run the game.

The only analogy I can think of for former Spurs managers is golden showers.
