It was reported he was going to buy this player, that player n anyone else- if he takes over a club it looks like he'll be buying the players and not keeping out of interfering with the football side.
It's going to end badly for someone with one of these takeovers- I hope it's not us.
Better the devil you know n all that, at least we'll still have a club in 20 years with enic! maybe no trophies (C'mon prove me wrong ) but a club non the less.

We want an ambitious owner.

But which one do we get?

One with a genuine strategy who trusts the football people and wishes to put a real structure in place (City)

Or ones who come in with big words and want to sign up all the names (PsG)

We just need to keep up the standard of signings from the last 2 years. We seem to have the infrastructure in place now so just need the money available so they can pull the trigger on signings. We also need on occasion to push the boat out on a special player if we feel he can take us to the next level. The owner can't have any involvement since that's the issue we have with Levy. Just provide the budget for the football experts to work with.

I suppose it comes down to how much can they grow the investment / club to be the next City / Utd.

The infrastructure is there, there’s plenty they can show off about to their friends at our training ground and stadium.

We now have a feel good factor about us, they would just need to come in and back Ange with whatever he wanted.

Problem that would occur, is if they want a Neymar type player, who isn’t really interested in the football, more the money.

What city’s owners have done is easy. Went and brought in the best football brains in the business, with a clear long term vision of employing Pep. It becomes hard when the chairman wants to become the manager / sporting director.

PSG obliterate the rest of their league financially, and have *still* lost it to sides with a fraction of their budget a couple of times. That ownership in the PL would not be challenging City for titles regularly.

This wouldnt have appeared if Qatar didnt pull out of the United bidding. A minority stake from QSI was apparently the plan for them if the United takeover didnt happen. But then news came that the so called "Nine Two Foundation" identified Spurs if United fell through.

Al-Khelaifi’s Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) – who have owned Paris Saint-Germain since their 2011 takeover – are hopeful of expanding their portfolio with minority investments in multiple clubs. Earlier this year, he met with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to talk about potential investment into the club.
While QSI may not invest in Spurs, it is possible that a consortium led by Sheikh Jassim could move to buy the club. It would be a similar move to QSI’s investment in Paris, as Spurs would represent a foothold in the capital of England and one of the most noteworthy clubs in the highest profile league.

We have come really close to big things at three occasions under the current ownership. If we finally get there because we get owners with deep pockets, it's not going to feel anywhere near as satisfying as if we manage to do it the 'right' way.

I really, strongly hope this doesn't happen.

We don't need a sugar daddy to succeed - how close we came with Poch and how well we're doing now with Ange proves that the stadium revenue, attacking football, and focussing on young players gives us a chance.
We know the Qataris have run PSG like a circus, constantly interfereing in footballing decisions, undermining managers, and signing the biggest names instead of building a team.
And we can't honestly keep defending our right to call ourselves Yids if we're going to embrace selling-out to an Islamist dictatorship who're currently harbouring the leaders of Hamas and who treat them as friends and allies - not to mention their similar closeness historically to the Taliban and to the Muslim Brotherhood.

This would go against literally everything we're meant to be as a club in the hope of picking up a few pots. No way. No to Qatar.

I completely concur and relate to this POV. However. I do feel like although i would also like to win in the 'right' way, football just isn't the same any more. It's moved on and maybe those dreams of winning the way we would all really want the club to are just a pipe dream now. Perhaps it's time to just accept that this is the only way the club can sustain any kind of long-term, competitive winning run.

Ange has said a few times that what he is trying to do and build is more than just winning 'something'. He clearly has bigger ambitions than that.

Nobody is saying Liverpool or Arsenal need a sugar daddy to win. It would patently be nonsense, given that Liverpool have won the title and the Champions League in recent years. Nether are operating on a different financial level to us. We've just been badly mismanaged for four years and seem to have developed an inferiority complex.

Im sure there will be a lot of speculation but im not entirely convinced anything will happen with this. After Utd I think it's more likely they will take some time to reassess what is the best move for them rather then jumping straight in to buy another club. I think they were so keen because its Man Utd and owning a team as big as them would have been quite the crown jewel. Even if on paper we would be a pretty attractive preposition (location, stadium, training ground etc) I'm not convinced they will be quite as enamoured by the idea. If they did eventually decide to look at us i reckon it will be the same as before and it would be more of a % rather then a full blown sale. Wont stop there being a lot of speculation tho.

I suspect when they are preparing to invest billions, they will be working on a number of options, not just Man Utd.
