Tottenham chief Daniel Levy has reportedly slapped a £2.5billion price tag on the north London club after fans demanded their ENIC owners to leave on Monday night. Spurs have been linked with an eye-watering takeover by Qatar Sports Investment but it could be difficult to complete due to the Qatar sovereign wealth fund’s ownership of Paris Saint-Germain.

How far into the article before they mention how all this could've been avoided, if only Diana were here! :D

Hope he used a ladder, otherwise no ones going to be able to see the price tag down there.

They won't be taking anything over while they still own PSG. Guesswork and fiction.

How do red bull get away with it? I already hate the idea of being owned by QSI, but to then be in some sort of franchise with PSG ?

There are ways, legal ones even, to get around that issue.

But, I don't know that the Qataris are planning on going that route yet - or if they prefer to take a shot at the two bigger clubs for sale. Lots of pros/cons either way.

£2.5 billion.

I'm aware globally Liverpool are massive. But Forbes had them sitting at circa £3.5 billion last year.

Are they really worth £1 billion more than Spurs. ??

Look at the revenue streams available to Spurs now the new stadiym has arrived.
The premium for being in London.

I honestly thought we'd be worth more.

I don't think it necessarily has to be done in one swoop. I could see QSI taking a share now and releasing some of their PSG ownership in time to own us. I just think in the PL with a stadium with no name we could be a great proposition for them. Just a thought. Similar to ENIC selling off their stake in Rangers before taking more of Spurs.

i think..(open to be corrected)..its due to some very clever company structures which present the two clubs as being separate and distinct. Despite Red Bull owning Leipzig in practice, officially they are only sponsoring the name of the club Salzburg. With this as their foundation they managed to convince UEFA that there is no dodginess going on and that the two clubs would gain no advantage.

It is not an unreasonable valuation.
ie It is not a 'hands-off', 'we are going no-where' price.
And during negotiation, (if Levy/Lewis really want out), perhaps £2B would do it.

There is no conflict with dual ownership if the clubs cannot play each other.
As junior partners, we could agree to drop out of any competition PSG were in.
We could be compensated by a very lucrative annual friendly with psg.

I could live with the idea of all the efforts going into winning the league - that is the title we need to be considered a proper sky4 champion. Win it and win it again.
Not so keen on us just being a feeder club though, if that was the plan....

PSG is most probably a bigger brand globally they've got fashion credibility with Jordan and others and potentially a bigger fan base also read they're looking to buy Parc de France

I think we might be the feeder club in the relationship.

Can we all
Slap
Him on his bald head for the pain hose caused us for 20 years
He gets a pass because of the infrastructure built off field however its time to sell as it's very clear they (ENIC)aren't interested on the sporting side.

I presume that's £2.5b to take on the club and it's debt, not on the basis of ENIC paying off the debt prior to sale, so values the club brand and its assets at circa £3.3b.
