Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen each picked up their 4th yellow card of the season in Tottenham’s 0-0 draw against Chelsea on Sunday, leaving them both one booking away from suspension.

I have no real issue with this. Even the cards there largely avoidable. It's about time that a Spurs team had a bit of a nasty streak.

We're not dirty or over the top with our challenges.

We're not getting red cards or injuring opposition players.

So whilst we can certainly tidy things up a bit, I'm more than happy for our players to continue to "mix it" like they have been so far this season.

Looks like we're bit going to get into Europe via fair play league.

It doesn't really bother me. Allows players a small rest without knocking their or others confidence.

Providing it's only 1 suspension a game I agree. Forces the manager's hand in resting a player he normally wouldn't.

At least for Walker and Vertonghen we have decent backups in Trippier and Wimmer, so not as big an issue as it could have been.

Have to agree with this. Also agree that i like the fact that our players have a bit of fight about them and care.
We have a decent squad and can manage a couple of suspensions.

Well, we are into our easier fixtures now. Not a bad time for some forced rotation.

A pressing game is always likely to lead to a few extra fouls and therefore yellow cards.

No issue with that, and we've got cover for both Walker and Vertonghen. I'd rather they continue with their current approach rather than trying to ease off to avoid a yellow.

Don't we have the most fouls per game average? Will always pick up a few suspensions.

As someone who plays in the back line a lot I find this rule to be very anti football .Their job is to stop the other team from scoring and sometimes that requires some physical play. Each game is its own war and to be punished for getting carded a handful of times over the course of 10 or 15 matches is crap in my humble opinion. Okay , I feel better now

The match v Chelsea last Sunday was billed as the 'dirtiest team' versus the 'most fouled' team.

Take away the theatricals and I think Chelsea wouldn't be fouled so much.

Rich teams such as Chelsea and man utd have never been too bothered by yellow cards because as Mourinho famously said, he likes a squad with two top players for every position.
