If this story is true then there really is little hope for our recruitment department. I know from people I have spoken to that The hierarchy at Accrington couldn’t believe it when he started getting the attention he did/is.
He wasn’t thought to be anywhere near as good as the keeper they had on loan from Chelsea last season. He was given opportunities because of injuries though and JC then thought he could Give him a shop window and cash in and use the money elsewhere.

Signing young keepers is completely different to any other position. Are our 20 year old keepers any better than him because they play in our youth academy? I think that a young keeper playing in mens football, learning how to cope with the physical side of the game in set pieces, shot stopping and playing in football games that matter and have an impact on promotion and relegation is far better experience than a young keeper in our academy training daily with Hugo. You can’t replicate the pressure from real games in training either.
How many young keepers have we seen being wasted in academies and being sold/released by 26/26 to a level where they could have potentially played regularly at the age of 21/22.

If he is being targeted by us then I’m sure he won’t want to sit in our reserves either.

I’d sign him and let him see out this season with them and re-assess in the summer with another loan move or two.

That’s one of the trick questions I‘ve been asking in my boring Dad style for about 30 years. The other is Sunderland in ‘79, Villa in ‘81, who in ‘80? I’m sure young people think I’m senile.
Excellent question. ?

He seems very agile with great reflexes and anticipation. The thing about highlights however is that they won't show derpy moments or how he handles crosses in the box etc, but I really like what I saw in the videos on his Twitter. He also seems to have been in several League One Team of the Month and Team of the Week at 20 years old and has played more than 50 senior games for them. No matter how you slice it, that's very impressive for a 20-year-old keeper in today's football climate.

It is good that the club are planning for a long-term Lloris replacement. Finding someone of Lloris's quality will be difficult.

Don't know much about this guy, but at 20 years old, even if we do sign him there will probably be an experienced player brought in for the interim period (5 years or so).

Unless of course this lad is amazing; if so then happy days!

All we need is Barry blockin for centreback, Paul Passin for midfield, and Steve Shootin up front. Then We are golden.
