They went for Pereira year after when we were linked with him first. I don’t think Leicester even want him as right backi rather trust leicester's scouts as they went for pereira while we went for aurier

This just shows how good a deal we got for Doherty - Castagne has a year left on his contract and arguably doesn't make Atalanta's best XI:

Pretty sure the one from EastLondonYid is cos I absolutely rekt him yesterday. Two d’ohs from a couple of guys who definitely know anything about Atalanta or Castagne
can confirm this.Pretty sure the one from EastLondonYid is cos I absolutely rekt him yesterday.
Identical (or very, very similar) fees in the end, as well. Pereira simply wasn't available for the amount of money we were willing/able to spend on a RB that summer. Never let facts get in the way of a well established narrative though! They went for Pereira year after when we were linked with him first. I don’t think Leicester even want him as right back
Signed with Leicester
5 year deal
24mil euro fee! WowSigned with Leicester
5 year deal
Honestly wasn’t that impressed with him whenever I watched although that was only a small handful of times. Thought I was totally missing something with how excited people were for him. Will be interesting to see how he goes for them. Thought he'd be a good option forus because of his versatility but I'm more than happy with Doherty.
Will definitely be interesting to see how he gets on.
Don’t agree about the transfers bit.Agree it will be interesting. Leicester have been a lot more successful than us with their transfers recently so it does intrigue me that they have gone for him and also got him so soon after we signed a new RB....
Whilst Castagne doesnt look a world beater, it did seem to me that he can deliver pretty good service into the box. In Jose's lopsided formation, I think that would have been a real weapon for us.
Don’t agree about the transfers bit.
Leicester have signed plenty of flops - it’s just that people get attracted to the hits as they don’t actually follow the team.
15 million for Danny Ward (how Liverpool always seem to sell their players for 8x what they’re worth is shocking to me)
15 million for Rachid Ghezzal
15 million for Filip Benkovic
28 million for Adrein Silva
15 million for Vicente Iborra
I don’t think paying 30 million for Iheanacho was worth it either.
Basically they seem to have a fairly even 50/50 split on hits and misses. It’s just from the outside most casual fans don’t realise their transfer and scouting approach requires them to throw a lot of shit at the wall to see what sticks.

Also apparently now Rodgers will get more control for their transfer recruitment, which wasn't good for Liverpool when he was in chargeDon’t agree about the transfers bit.
