I hate Marmite but I am very happy to have Sherwood in charge at Tottenham, and I have no doubt at all he'll be a successful manager, I just hope it's with us

Hate him, but that is not to say I don't want him to do well, I do as I want Spurs to win.

But I am not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend everything is okay, when it is clearly not.
Do you have some special behind the scenes information I don't know about to make you hate him and not be burying your head because you know things are not ok?

I don't think any of us have really had time to form a valid opinion of him positive or negative at this stage - all we know is that he's won 13 out of a possible 15 league points to date so got off to a reasonably good start and deserves the benefit of the doubt surely

I think most reasonable people aren't too fussed one way or the other right now. And again, it isn't as simple as hate or like. Do you want him in charge or don't you, would perhaps have been a better way of putting it, as it stands, I don't think you're going to learn a great deal.

The Sherwood Out thread is pretty much driven by half a dozen posters with a smattering of nutcases from both camps going around and around in circles.

I'd rather he wasn't our manager but I also think he's gone in the summer so any cockwaving to back up why I don't want him as our manager is pointless and a complete waste of my time, i'm playing the long game. And meanwhile, if he does really great and proves me wrong, then that's excellent.

No love, no hate and no fucking Marmite ;)
So you do not want him and are so certain he will fail you do not even think him worth the bother of justifying your opinion? And that is you being reasonable?

I cannot recall a time when the site staff were so snide about the manager. I am not sure even caretaker Pleat was treated with such hostility.

As a supporters site this place is really going down the toilet.

I just don;t like him personally, something about him rubs me up the wrong way and I don't like it. Of course I have never met the man in real life, so I can only judge him on what I have seen and I don't like him.

Would you say that things are okay?

I met him during a charity match i was on crutches and he came over and started talking to me and asked me what I had done. He seemed like a nice guy. I have also seen him in a restraunt in radlett aa few times and seems chatty and friendly. Thats not to say i liked him as a player. either at Blackburn or spurs. I always found him abraisive and uncomfortable to watch. like cattermole. But who doesnt know people who are nice as pie off the pitch and a complete twat on it?

Don't you think that's a little silly to just intrinsically dislike a man you have never met because he rubs you up the wrong way in interviews for some reason you can't even identify?

I would say I don't know whether things are ok or not because I have no inside knowledge - all I do know is any inexperienced manager in a new job is going to take time to really show what they can do -for better or worse- before they can be judged with any validity and so far things are good in as far as we're on a winning run and taken almost maximum points from the league games we've played.

I think at the very least judgement should be reserved until there has been enough time to justify making any type of judgement on the man and his position as our manager.

Intriguing. Care to expand?

Umm dont want to say too much as it was a great site and I dont want to bad mouth other forums but suffice to say I prefer it over here now. COYS today is not what it was when I joined and it seems many of the core/good posters have drifted away.

Its a bit sad and the end of an era for me as I was on there since 06 but I have little to no interest in going back.

I love marmite but it's a bit early for the 'L' word with Tim. Saying that I'm happy for us to continue going steady and hopefully we can develop it someday.

Not for me. I neither love nor hate him. I'm just willing to see what we're going to do under him because I couldn't take any more of AVB's dross. The last thing I wanted was a similar head coach to him, so at least I'm happy in that respect. I'm also happy with the performances since Sherwood came in. There are things to improve upon, but he's also had to contend with an outrageous injury list.

So credit to him for getting more of our players playing with belief in their ability. If nothing else, a good number of our players have put in their best performances this season since he came in, despite our missing men.

One of my best mates has always been one of the biggest ****s to play against. I did it all through growing up as he played for a different team to me and his brother. He used to target us as well.

I don't hate him but I don't like him. That isn't to say I want him to fail.

Didn't like him as a player and my opinion hasn't really changed.
