Before you start reading, I would like to state that I am neither pro or anti Sherwood. I simply want the club to do well.

Scenario 1

We finish the season in 6th position, qualifying once again for the Europa (Due to Citeh winning the League Cup I believe the place in the competition is then allocated to the league 5th & 6th)
Levy decides that Tim should be given more time and takes a chance on him, begrudgingly letting LVG slip through the net.
The World cup comes along, Belgium play well and Vertonghen has a stormer. The summer is spent with speculation that Lloris and Vertonghen will move on to so called bigger clubs, Levy eventually gives in on the last day of the transfer window and both players move on, bringing in a nice profit. Due to missing out on the targets that Tim actually wanted we end up signing Lescott and Milner, along with a young up and comer in Danny Ings (Tim has a good feeling about Dan). Tim convinces Brad to stay on for another year to be a "character" Archer becomes no 2.
We start the season, Tim fields more young blood in an attempt to put his mark on the history of spurs. Come November Spurs are sitting 7th in the league, Ade is back in the reserves after securing an extension to his already ridiculous contract. Lennon has started every game and has 1.5 assists and 1 disallowed goal to his name.
Walker has the highest attempted/failed cross ratio in Europe, he is removed from his CAM position and put back into defence, where he continues to add to his failed cross ratio.
Rose plays every third game, trying to catch Walkers cross ratio.
Lamela is still out wit a poorly back/thigh/toe/foot/finger
I could go on about the players but we all know what happens.
November is coming to an end, our football is getting worse, Levy calls in Tim and tells him that it isn't working out. Tim blames the players, Levy isn't having it. Tim then panics and blames it on the canteen staff. Tim and spurs part ways and Levy is looking for yet another manager.
Levy calls numerous top managers and is told that although they would like a nice big bumper pay off after only 6 months in charge, they have a reputation to protect.
levy decides to call in Brad "character" Friedel. Friedel agrees to become the new manager but won't settle for anything less than a 19 month contract, he isn't going to get done in the same way that Tim did.
The season fades away and we once again treat it as a "transitional period"
Fast forward 8 months and repeat........

In the mean time, LVG has taken over as the manager of Newcastle. Newcastle finish fourth, playing exciting football whilst introducing numerous unknown youth players that no one has ever heard of.

Scenario 2

This is where you come in. What are the alternatives????

I think Brad would have more of an influence in a way... despite being a few years Sherwood's junior, he seems more of a father figure to me and more likely to crush some skulls :D

Great post though. I've voiced concerns about Adebayor and I often don't feel that his motor runs off the right fuel - he seems to play well only when he has to prove a point, and stops playing well when he doesn't. I'm grateful for his service, but I also feel that he is a little bit of a risk in the dressing room at times. Based 100% completely on what he's said in quotes and nothing else really.

I thought it was the FA Cup that decide the Europa League, anyhow, not the League Cup (hence why Wigan were in it this season)

England get three spots one for 5th and then the winners of both domestic cups. If a team wins one of the cups who have already qualified for champions league, then the position moves to a league place. It used to be that the runners up automatically went into europa, but they scrapped that!
I'm hoping we finish 7th and fail to qualify!

But if Woolwich win the FA (sigh) then won't 7th get a spot too, then?

FA Cup runners up can get a Europa League spot, but not the League Cup.

I'm going to have nightmares now! Even if the woolwich didn't win the fa cup (god I hope they don't) we'd probably end up wining the europa this season and qualify that way (lol I just laughed at myself writing that)

3rd scenerio - we beat Arsenal, Southampton and Liverpool. Arsenal beat Swansea and lose to Chelsea and City. We are level on points, easier run in and we pip them to fourth!

Lol I admire your optimism. I can see us coming out with possibly 2 points. A draw against woolwich and Southampton, massive defeat against liverfool!

If the winner of the domestic cup qualifies for the UEFA Champions League, the domestic cup runner-up qualifies for the UEFA Europa League at the stage initially reserved for the lowest ranking top domestic league representative (or the winner of another official domestic competition in accordance with paragraph 2.03). Should both the winner and the runner-up of the domestic cup qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the association concerned may enter for the UEFA Europa League the club which finishes the top domestic league immediately below the other club or clubs which qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

The FA Cup is considered the 'domestic cup' hence why this doesn't apply to the League Cup.

A rather cheerful scenario.

You missed out the bit about... a gas explosion that ruins the £40m training ground, and White Hart Lane is burnt down in a botched insurance fraud that sees Levy sentenced to serious jail time, the club getting sold to Vincent Tan who changes our shirt colour to red, and installs a Mr P. Ridsdale as chairman, who for his first act hires Sol Campbell as manager and announces the signing of Joey Barton for a record breaking £37m... though.

He's ridiculously boring!!! You must have noticed that the only time he ever really gets game time is when citeh play the bigger teams, ie munich and tonight Barca. They put him in as he defends well! The one thing we dont need is another defensive minded player!
Before we know it we're going to have a team full of David "pass the ball sideways" Battys!!!
