10 of the hottest young prospects in English football to watch out for in 2017

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/10-hottest-young-prospects-english-9494389

KWP gets a slot on the list (with a mention for TOB too) - surprisingly there is no Edwards.

Others more knowledgeable on youth footy, how do some of the talents on the list compare with our more talked about players?

@MirrorFootball @AdrianJKajumba what about Marcus Edwards at Spurs? Surprised no mention of him.

@lippyspur said to someone earlier. Already well known. MP spoke about him at length/likened to Messi. Focus was lesser-familiar names.

Smith is arguably not even 1st Choice RB, he only seems to play there when Francis isn't needed at CB, so KWP would be 3rd choice.

Smith pretty much made the position his own last season with Francis moved to CB. Only three players have clocked up more game time this season for Bournemouth than Smith who is also being used as a RM as well now I think.

Interesting times for Nya Kirby with Pardew gone and Allerdyce in. Big Sam is not known for throwing the youngsters in, especially little technical lads like Kirby. I could end up being wrong but it doesn't look like a natural fit to me. It'll be lump it up to Benteke and sod the midfield.

Saw something saying MP was happy for KWP and a couple of other youngsters to go out on loan "To the right club"
Can't find the link now or remember whom the other 2 were.

Here it is.....http://www.footballinsider247.com/p...for-three-tottenham-january-transfers-report/

they've just put their own spin on what @thfcacademy reported a few days ago, which was discussed a couple of pages back. their headline is a bit irresponsible and paints the wrong picture.

I think championship or a decent footballing league 1 side would be the best place for kwp for 6 months. Too much at stake to throw him into a premier league club for his first taste of league football. For a defender it's much easier for mistakes you make to be costly so I think out of the spotlight in the lower leagues would be better for now.

Maybe Luke mcgee's success on loan might have changed poch's mind about the effectiveness of lower league loans. Think McGee could become a excellent #2

The move to Crystal Palace was always a temporary one, he will end up at chelsea next season imo

As I said "arguably". Surely, if Smith was first choice RB, he would keep his place when Francis didn't play CB rather than moved to the wing.

That used to happen in the old days but I'm not sure it does any more. Why would Palace pay his wages for a year if they knew he was going to leave at the end of it having contributed zilch. I can't imagine Chelski will want to fork out serious cash for Kirby so they won't even make any money on him.

I don't necessarily think it's a demotion, they've been playing him in a more advanced role as either ARM in a 4231 or RM in a 442 and against Liverpool he started as LB due to Daniels being out.

Either way he's seeing plenty of game time, and I can't really see KWP getting much game time at Bournemouth.

For those hoping to see a bit more of KWP, this looks like good news - I know it's just marketing, but he's in there with three solid first teamers...
