Personally if we win our next 2 against united and stoke (both difficult games) then i think we will be right up leicesters arse. Ive a sneaking feeling that they will lose to sunderland and at best draw with west ham. They have been extremely lucky lately and could conceivably have been in 2nd based on not getting lucky breaks in their last 5 or so games. I just think tgey will stumble, my only concern is if its us or arsenal who pounce.
Two weeks ago i said to my brother we wont finish 2nd. Its either 1st or 3rd for me

I am a little bit worried about what's below us, I will be very worried if we fail to beat United. Still, in terms of what's above us I still think with Leicester's tough games as well, it only takes one weekend's set of fixtures to go well for us to have people question whether Leicester will hold on again. Like I've said before, it's not the mathematics that worries me at the moment, it's Leicester always finding some sort of way to win. They've stumbled their way through their last few games and you'd like to think when they face a team with a bit of added quality that they won't continue to get away with it.

I know this is going to seem like I am being deliberately obtuse, but I still think Arsenal will overtake us and possibly even Leicester. Our record against decent teams is pretty poor. We have won 4 games of the 17 against the top 12 teams (11 minus us). Of our last 6 games, 5 are against those teams.

I can honestly see Arsenal winning all their remaining games, they invariably have one of these runs at some point in the season and they have nothing but winnable games left.

And I know people have been saying all season Leicester will blow up, but I think they've started to ride their luck a little too much now and it could run out soon.

I've got to the point now where I almost want Leicester to keep winning because I'd much rather they won it than Arsenal and I really can't see us winning the league now (with a realist view - not a bullshit fatalist spursy one - which I now is nonsense anyway).

I would love to believe that there is still hope, and of course I want us to keep going for it, I just feel in the last month or so (losing to West Ham, giving away 2 points to a ten man Arsenal from a winning position, drawing with Liverpool) we've effectively given ourselves a mountain to climb with the fixtures we have.

With regards to what's 'below us' I think this is more of a must-not-lose game than a must-win game (although I'll be pretty pissed off if we don't win). A draw wouldn't be too bad if we were only focused on getting CL football.

I've been correct every August for the three last seasons tipping the next league winner.
Last August I tipped Arsenal.
I demand to be wrong.

when we beat Palace twice, and Watford twice, they were both in the top 12 when we beat them, and the only team out of the 3 that we have actually lost too that deserved anything at all was West Ham..

we have given ourselves a mountain to climb to win the League I totally agree, and I can see Arsenal winning 5 of their 7 games, 4 of which are at home, but they have 3 very difficult matches to play. their last 2 wins have been against Everton with an appalling home record, that nicked a point off us, and Watford who lost the game in the 1st 5-10 mins. West Ham won't lay down for them.

I'm also concerned that Arsenal will put together one of those runs - is it just me or do they always seem to have an easy last set of fixtures once they have gone out of everything else? It will certainly be a bad start to the weekend if they get anything better than a draw at West Ham. If they do go on such a run, then it will be less painful if Leicester stop them from actually winning it. I would still be delighted with top 3 and automatic qualification, somewhat disappointed with 4th leaving us with a horrible qualifier and likely causing all kinds of unwanted confusion to our summer transfer plans. Also, until Liverpool or City exit Europe, there is still the nightmare scenario of 4th not even getting us a qualifier. So, in order, come on Dortmund tonight, put Liverpool out of the tie and then if we can avoid losing to an increasingly lucky Man Utd, we should probably be able to say that 4th is secure, barring a disastrous finish. We can then see where we stand re 3rd. It may be that if Man City progress to the CL SF that they will lose their league focus and even start resting key players (note one of Arsenal's 2 remaining tough games on paper). If we beat Utd, I think it will really fire us up for the remaining games. This game is so important that I am almost dreading watching it. I just saw in 'News Now' that

'Man Utd Star Suffers Fresh Injury Blow Ahead Of Tottenham Clash'

and hoped for great news, only to see that the ' star' is - Adnan Januzaj!! .............................

I think Arsenal may out on a run but I think we will put on a run as well, also Arsenal have to play West Ham and a resurgent City so I think we'll be okay.

I'm loving the ride don't get me wrong but it seems wherever I look there's a downside.

Leicester finally slipping to a defeat they deserve for accumulated good fortune would give the goons more than hope given their run in. They have the sort of home games ahead that they usually win by four. They are likely to overtake our gd wiping out the extra point we in effect hold over them as a consequence. Cue burning sensation in the chest.

West Ham winning the next two would trip the goons up, and lucky Leicester too, but it would put them right back in the mix for the cl anthem to be played at their new hovel. Gulp.

Whilst all that is going off, can we win three, four or even five of our remaining games? We never beat Man U at home. Or win at Chelsea. A 60mph gale is guaranteed at the Britannia. West Brom get battered at the Lane but their goalie plays like a young Buffon and their shortest player scores the fkin winner with a header in the 85th minute. No Bale to put Soton to the sword in injury time. But we do have the fat Spanish waiters mind games and possibly a chef related conspiracy to navigate if we are still in contention at the last.

Can't see it. I'm cashing out in third, taking the money not opening the box.

CL in the last season at the lane, just as I come back from 13 years overseas. That'll do me.

If Arsenal get three points away to West Ham then I can see them going on that winning run. West Ham really need to turn up in that game. I am just hoping for a good weekend. I am worried about the united match ending in a draw.

Relax, we've got this (CL at least!). We are and have been the best team this year (sorry, I meant the 2nd best team. Leicester are quite obviously the best team in England and we're just grateful to be mentioned in the same breath as them – don't want to upset the Leicester loving Spurs fans now do we ;)).
We just play our usual game, and we will be in the top 2/3

Theres being disappointed that our club isn't winning the league, which is of course perfectly understandable and then theres sours grapes i.e "Even the officials want Leicester to win it" or "Their players are doping etc" or any of the other somewhat convoluted, rubbish reasons behind Leicester's success. We aren't where they are because we didn't take our chances when they arose, dropped silly points etc. Simple as that.

But that sure as shit doesnt mean we shouldn't be proud of the season we've and are STILL having. We're in the top two of the Premier League, have one of the best young managers in world football, the most talented young English midfielder for a long while, potentially the best striker this club has ever had, a talented squad of young players who want to play and fight for every point and imo most of all, a Tottenham Hotspur that finally doesn't immediately crumble under pressure and plays with a style and desire that upholds our clubs values. All of this makes for a very exciting future.

I know it's clutching at straws, but Leicester have twice this season over a 6 game stretch only scored 9pts, and both runs included us, Bournemouth and Villa

Leicester 1-1 Tottenham
Bournemouth 1-1 Leicester
Leicester 3-2 Aston Villa
Stoke 2-2 Leicester
Leicester 2-5 Arsenal
Norwich 1-2 Leicester

and
Everton 2-3 Leicester (or their win after Villa, but not going to count it as 3 runs)
Liverpool 1-0 Leicester
Leicester 0-0 Man City
Leicester 0-0 Bournemouth
Tottenham 0-1 Leicester
Aston Villa 1-1 Leicester

unfortunately I can't find a worst block, so if they had one of their worst runs for a third time, Arsenal would have to win every single match to beat them, and for us to win it we would need to win 5 and draw 1. also we have only really gone on 1 run that has accumulated 15pts or better, though that was 6 straight wins so we can do it;) providing Leicester only get a max 11pts from their final 6 which is 3wins 2 draws and 1 loss

Any champion needs luck, and they've had bags of it. Fortunately, I do think that their luck is due a turn for the worse and I can see them going on a similar run (to the ones you refer) as they are up against tougher teams.

I've just had a look to see what our poorest run of form has been over a 6 game stretch and I found 2 that equalled 9 points, just like Leicester.

The first was obviously our first 6 where we picked up 9.

The second was the run we had starting with that 1-1 draw at arsenal. 2 wins, 3 draws and a defeat.

Since then we've largely put in a solid total and become much more consistent, with the odd draw or defeat thrown in. We need to match our after the Newcastle game and hope Leicester luck hits a bump.

I doubt it will be of any help/hope, but in 4 of their last 6 matches at least 1 ex-Spurs player could feature, a few in the Sunderland team, Siggy, Carrick and Lennon.
