Our last 6 games against 'top 6' clubs reads

WLDWWW

I'm generously including the penalty cup win against Chelsea as a win (because it was)

Obviously this means fuck all in isolation but psychologically beating rivals regularly all goes in the bank.

Jose is a big game manager and that has always been our archilles heel.

Just looking at the fixtures for the season and I reckon, if we are no more than 6 points off top by the end of March, the league is ours.

Everton vs Liverpool
City vs Arsenal
Chelsea vs Southampton
Leicester vs Villa

Some of the teams around us are going to drop points this weekend. If we win there's a good chance we'll be in the top 4.

Jokes when our rivals drop points and so do we.

League doesnt generally take proper shape until mid-end November so I'd like to see where we are at then v the other challengers.

I do genuinely believe we will be in the mix though at that stage. Everything coming out of the players mouths is a sound of a pure desire and hunger to prove as many people as possible wrong while achieving a collective goal.

What if we're six points clear by the end of March? :geek:
then I fully expect the season to be announced null and void after a widespread breakout of covid cases amongst the premier league players. It'll be the mother of all spursys!

Regarding Saturdays game I hope we dont try to take things for granted because West Ham have played well with two losses one against Arsenal where they was robbed and beating Wolves and Leicester and thats not too shabby . Hopefully we now have a manager who will not allow us to be over confident and cock this game up as that would be just like us in the near past .

I'd definitely not be rushing around to find a way of watching us Saturday, as we kick off @ 16:30 on Sunday :cautious:

It depends entirely on what the threshold for deciding on PPG is.

Premier League clubs have signed off on using a points-per-game system if the season is ended early by the coronavirus pandemic. The plans for curtailment were agreed at the last shareholders meeting but were formally voted in on Tuesday, the PA news agency understands. A threshold of how much of the season needs to be played has yet to be agreed.

In March we play the 27th, 28th and 29th round of the season, but in my opinion as long as we get further than halfway before it's halted it should be decided on PPG.

West Ham this weekend will be quite a revealing game for me in terms of whether Jose has changed our mentality. It seemed to me every time, or almost every time under Poch, where we were building momentum and need a win in a winnable game to put ourselves right in it (Wolves at Wembley, and away at Burnley immediately spring to mind), we fluffed it.

We were on a nice roll, results and performances, before this stupid f*****g useless pointless bullshit international break. Now just get the 3 points, by any and all means possible, get those 3 points
