It would be mad to even think about getting rid of the manager. I don't like the system we are currently playing but we must give him a chance. My biggest moan is that we never finish getting players in until the last few days and have to play catch up every year.

Who are we playing catch up to?
Chelsea still trying to get stones.
Utd trying for a striker.
City have just bought de brynne (sp).
Wenger has moaned that there isn't any players of quality available.
Most teams in the prem will be looking to do a deal. Don't think the we are special in this case. It's the way the transfer market works and is exacerbatted by the fact that we are trying to build a £500m stadium while only making on average a £2m profit. To put that into perspective if you made £20k a year it would be like getting a £5m mortgage.

I am probably going against the grain here, but I see alot of changes and positives in Poch's team this season. We may not have the points but we have certainly put in the graft. That first half against Stoke was some very good high energy play. Against Everton we played with aggresion and a bit more bite and creativity.

Leicester was dull and United we were toothless as well. We wont have too much consistency this season as we have so many young players, however I am feeling slightly more positive. I was expecting to see the same boring rubbish that I saw at the end of last season.

Yesterday's match when Swansea changed formation from 4231, they scored 2 against Man U. I think so far I had not seen Poch change his formation before, have u?

Imagine the reaction on here if this had come out of brandon rodgers' mouth, as it sure sounds like him. Oh deary me.

The notion that we are the only club doing business at the end of the window is total shit.

Utd and Arsenal are looking for strikers, Chelsea are still chasing defensive cover.

It's the nature of the beast. The window should shut mid August for kickoff.

I actually don't think it's a well balanced squad and I think we are short more than a final piece, I actually see us moving away from a balanced squad, over reliance on youth and energy, a lack of skill, experience, character and leadership, far too much emphasis on attacking play and shape and far too little on defensive stability

Id take squad we have now over the squad we started last season with. I genuinely think we have done very good business in refreshing our squad this window.

No it's not perfect, and we lack a little bit here and there but overall I'm pretty excited to see what we can do.

You have barely seen Pritchard, son, Njie, Trippier, Wimmer kick a ball in anger in the prem for Spurs and all look very promising.

Alli, Toby and Dier in DM have all looked very good.

And I don't think we are short of skill or neglected defensive stability at all.

The thing is you could have said Soldado, Lamela, Eriksen, Paulinho etc all looked very promising and maybe with the right coach and tactics they could have been. Paulinho looked very good in his first season for us, Capoue looked very good in his early games before getting injured, Davies looked good at Swansea in the PL.

Of course looking at a squad overall is different than looking at individuals, but I do fear that unless we see a few significant changes we will still be lacking adequate leadership, adequate balance of experience or enough players of real character and drive. I think we will still be looking at a defensively weak balance and I think we still lack the central midfield playmaker with the ability to play the early telling passes to the attacking players to give them better opportunity to attack opposition defences before they are fully organised

yikes, particularly as we played poorly in most of our wins last season

He's had some dodgy decisions and I'm not so sure about him in the long run, but thank god we got him and not that dutch clown of LVG

I've been one of Poch's biggest supporters since he came to Spurs but the stunt he's pulled tonight has given him his first big black mark in my book. You either want a player or you don't. You don't say you don't want him, let the chairman and player agree a deal with another club, then at the last moment decide you might want after all! Amateurish!

The thing is LVG isn't suited to an environment like Man Utd and what it brings

The fact of the matter is, the current United team in no way resembles a LVG team and hasn't got much emphasis on promoting youth which he has always done at every club

Really? your reaction to this is that Poch is to blame?
He must have agreed to let him go on loan because he was promised SB. So as SB is still not here, Lamela's move was blocked

Anyway, a player not leaving should be the least of our worries. I'm a lot more concerned about the lack of strikers and DM

Surely that doesn't make sense as Berahino is something we are desperate for (a striker) and lamela isn't.

Regardless of whether we can get a striker tomorrow I would almost guarantee we will have a striker tomorrow.

Though he maybe a free agent or a total unknown

I'm just going but what was said on the Lamela thread on the transfer section. I didn't make it up. I can't see the relation between players, but that's what's been said.

I'm glad we won today but it was another uninspiring performance. Hopefully that win has helped us turn the corner as his subs worked for once.

I still think we are in for a boring season with him in charge. There's going to be lots of games like today. Won't matter if we win them though I guess.

Leicester are really exciting to watch right now.

If we sacked potch hired ranieri and bought the entire leicester team I bet we'd look just as uninspiring and drab.

It's gotta be the weight of expectations placed on the coach and the players at spurs that just shackles everyone and everything and just has us playing it safe. Think Redknapp got us at the right time were there was no real expectations or perceived superiority

I know where your coming from the style of play is tedious we seem to have most of the ball but in areas that dont hurt anyone.
As soon as we get to the finał third it generally tends to breakdown after having a lack of ideas, still a win is a win and we needed it with the run of games we have coming as if we play like that today we wont get much from them.

I actually thought we were a bit more direct today, more tempo and purpose. (Mason)

long may it continue.
