I will never forget the guy who called up, think he lived in Oz but he broke down all of Levy's history with managers and how its mostly been lucky or a shambles. And Jordan actually praised the call and since has changed his stance on Levy and is now more critical.
Fair enough. I've not listened to much football media of late (i'm not that sadistic).

Dont blame you. I constantly moan about Talksport and all it has to offer but cant seem to get away from it. They have some great characters on there like Jordan, Ally Mccoist, Parlour etc but then they have some absolute dross aswell!

@Cochise

I listened to Talksport today, and he did say something very interesting.

He said that he had dialogue with Levy a while back, not sure when but sounds like it was a few months ago. Jordan asked Levy what the plan was with Conte. Levy apparently said that they knew Conte wasn't going to last past the summer, "but he didn't want to poke the bear" as he wanted Conte to see out the season and realised he was a volatile character.

Hence, it looked like Levy knew Conte was a ticking time bomb (like all of us already knew), so shouldn't have been surprised when Conte had his rant. This makes it all the more shambolic that there isn't a succession plan.

Fuck me, have we really reached the point where people are suggesting that only “hindsight” could have foreseen how the Conte situation would likely unfold?

Just because a lot of fans were onboard with it, doesn’t mean it wasn’t bleeding obvious, it’s just most chose to be optimistic and ignore any doubts.

As many people have said before, Levy is not stupid. He knows fuck all about football ( quite an achievement seeing as he’s run a football club for 23 years, but anyway), but you don’t get to his position by being thick.

He knew full well, but did it thinking he could bluff his way through, make a load of false promises and make Conte fit his philosophy. Basically, his arse was on the line and he needed a save and he tried to wing it for as long as he could.

Like most things related to the football side of things ( especially in the last 5 years), decisions are made out of desperation rather than coherent planning.

David Beckham has just joined the queue at Bruce Grove to pay his respects to the death of Spurs. Phil and Holly just rocked up pitch side.

And the hard-nosed, squeeze every penny out of the deal, mr chief negotiator decided to spunk 42m on a wing back as a leaving present for Conte……..shambolic, inept, incompetent and negligent.

That's twice this year I have seen him asked about being a Spurs supporter all his life and when his first game was. Both times he has said he was 7 or 8 and he has never named the match or the result.

If I was asked that question my reply would be "My first game was February 1972, I was nine years old and we beat Stoke 2-0 - Big Martin Chivers got a brace."

I often get suspicious when people are vague with answers - just saying!
I think you're being a bit harsh to be honest.
I haven't got a clue what my first game was, couldn't remember if my life depended on it.
I think it was a nil nil or a one nil loss but that's about all I've got! 🤣
And I was a lot older that 7 or 8 when I finally got to my first game - my mum wouldn't let me go as a kid because she thought it was all hooliganism and I'd probably get killed!

(I may or may not have spent far too much of my youth drinking and smoking).

Seems to recognise some collective responsibility. Is he just paying lip service, probably.

I mean………that’s the most accountability he’s ever taken

which is saying something in itself

So funny reading it. Reads like corporate robots having multiple meetings about wording and how to sound sincere rather than actually being sincere

If he really took any responsibility, he’d go himself. Instead, Stellini is the fall guy for his incompetence.

The statement is empty business speak where the words bear no resemblance to what’s actually going on.

Ive backed Levy repeatedly over the years. End of the road for me. He should go.

I mean at this point he's really only got the tea lady left to blame.

Levy is so far on the spectrum that he probably thinks this is enough to stave off fan unrest on Thursday.

As was suggested the other day by whom I forget (apologies) but if Poch is available right now, and the club operate with significantly more information than we have, and still don't hire him (as the easy option to appease the fans)... there must be a plan afoot.
Do you mean like the one we procrastinated on over the summer after we got rid of Jose? The plan that ended with Nuno? I think it's more of a 'we'll hold out for Naglesmann', He'll refuse, Poch will go to Chelsea, and we'll end up with another 'Nuno' Type manager again.
