“You can fool some people sometime, but you can’t fool all the people all the time. Now you’ve seen the light, stand up for you your right”
You’re seriously using ‘hindsight’ as an excuse to defend Levy and multiple appalling decisions on the football side of the club going back years. Most of your list of errors earlier are all with 100% hindisight, Mr Fishcake. We all wanted Conte at the time, we all welcomed Fab at the time (no we didn't know about the investigation coming up- see my prior posts in that thread), most of us were guiltily excited about Mourinho. We thought these guys would just get us over the line with what was left of the Poch cohort of players. With hindsight they were bad appointments, although I think Fab has laid some worthwhile foundations by the sounds of it. Fair to say Poch was ground down and not supported enough, but its not clear what he wanted and whether the money was there.
As for all the interfering and not backing, you have to remember this is all second/third hand hearsay and again stories have been embellished over time. Conte always said he was happy with what the club did after every window. We even got an expensive wing-back in Porro in January when Conte wouldn't even extend. The non-backing argument is just not credible. I'm glad we kept some players, like HK, others should have gone. Hindsight.
Some fans are just not happy and want change in case its better (Brexit anyone?). The bigger picture, as you say, is competition is intensified and the strategy is raise income through the stadium, as for the style and scouting strategy etc. we'll see what happens next with Munn taking on Fab's innovations and who the manager will be.

I will never forget the guy who called up, think he lived in Oz but he broke down all of Levy's history with managers and how its mostly been lucky or a shambles. And Jordan actually praised the call and since has changed his stance on Levy and is now more critical.Has Simon Jordan come to Levy's rescue on Talksport?? He's always a great defender of the man.
Can you show a source before November 2021? I couldn’t find one.Negating everything else Levy has done wrong, I dont know how anyone can defend Levy after the Paratici debacle. The investigations into him started December of 2020 & heated up in February 2021. Reading everything that has come out about that, Levy disregarded everyone telling him to steer clear & appointed him in a solo mission in June 2021. To no ones surprise(but Levy’s, apparently) he is now banned from football for 2.5 years. There is no defending that. Levy’s bought the club into disrepute.

As was suggested the other day by whom I forget (apologies) but if Poch is available right now, and the club operate with significantly more information than we have, and still don't hire him (as the easy option to appease the fans)... there must be a plan afoot. To be fair to Levy for a (brief) minute if the club really think Poch is the wrong choice then they need to stick with that stance even if it is a bad look with him going to Chelsea. I wouldn’t want them to buckle and try to get Poch just to appease the, understandably, annoyed fan base.
However it puts more pressure on him getting the right man in now.
I optimistically actually believe this as it's all that makes sense to me right now...Either that or Donna Cullen just doesn't get on with Poch.As was suggested the other day by whom I forget (apologies) but if Poch is available right now, and the club operate with significantly more information than we have, and still don't hire him (as the easy option to appease the fans)... there must be a plan afoot.
It's like that guy/girl who keeps defending their partner to their mates despite everyone knowing they are a serial cheat, because she's a good mum/dad to the kids.20 years of failure ok his built a stadium but has failed the fans failed, that team is bad because of his management , his toxic management structure and ego and failed this club
It was me, but I didn't say it must be because there is a plan afoot, more that there was a reason for not bringing him back.As was suggested the other day by whom I forget (apologies) but if Poch is available right now, and the club operate with significantly more information than we have, and still don't hire him (as the easy option to appease the fans)... there must be a plan afoot.
I thought it was mate, didn't bookmark it so didn't want to tag you.It was me, but I didn't say it must be because there is a plan afoot, more that there was a reason for not bringing him back.
Not quite, you’re using hindsight to attack Levy for decisions most of us agreed with and would have done the same.
When I think how some are still so quick to offer excuse and praise Levy I think of Trump and ‘I could shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters’ Does get a bit creepy at times…Makes me laugh every time. Completely off topic but it's hard to believe they elected an even more inept man than him after this...
Maybe it is relevant given Levy's track record of managerial appointments...
I'd been told about it by a friend who works for AC Milan when we appointed him. He told me that Paratici had been a 'naughty boy' and was probably going to have to face the music at some time , but that he'd probably be a good appointment in the short-termCan you show a source before November 2021? I couldn’t find one.
The other thing is we never know the results of investigations- how many have City got through?
I think that's a very fair point. And, to be fair, I could see why he sacked Poch and brought in Jose. I do think the timing of sacking Jose was absolutely unforgivable. Not many people agreed with that. This is such a huge problem generally with football analysis.
Twitter is so fucked I was seeing many accounts ecstatic with the formation we started with yesterday, while simultaneously seeing commentary on us being 5-0 down.
Then we see people suggesting 4 at the back was a stupid idea, Porro at RB was a terrible idea etc , but only after we got slapped.
You see the same stuff over Levy. I didn’t want us to fire Poch, but could see the logic behind bringing in Mourinho. Likewise the chase for Conte. Obviously everyone’s and expert in hindsight, but I think some need to be more honest about the decisions made in that moment. That’s not to say Levy isn’t culpable for the crisis we’re in now, but not EVERY decision that ends sub-optimally is obvious from the start.

That was a great call, remember it too. Fella is on some Spurs podcast but the name escapes me.I will never forget the guy who called up, think he lived in Oz but he broke down all of Levy's history with managers and how its mostly been lucky or a shambles.
