Wonder if there's any link with our pre season going to Australia.
You'd think Postecoglou becomes more likely with their history together.
I think Postecoglu has just rocketed into pole position for the job after this appointment.

He plays the right football, will have just won the title doing so, is highly rated by City Group and is proven to work under this system.

There is a lot of upsides to appointing him under Munn

Looking at similar sounding positions at other clubs this looks purely a money making appointment and maybe expansion on the football side, if that is spent on increased transfer dealings then great.
We need Paratici or someone similar to go out and find the Bentancurs etc, don't think Mr Munn is going to do that for us.

Hate to be 'glass half empty', but I can't see DL keeping himself away from football matters for more than a week before he starts getting itchy fingers. It's a great way of keeping the fans off his back though I'll give him that

It'll be like another divorce for me if DL doesn't step away. I'll be in the same position of not wanting to be part of it. 🤔

If the chairman is surrounding himself with people who are experts in football and football/sports administration then we don't need him to step away , he is an intelligent guy .

The issue is when he is taking advice on sporting matters from no sports people and reacting.

If he is building a people infrastructure of the very best in sports administration people then I'm over the moon.

so experience down under and in China, arriving just before they locked down presumably. Anywhere else?

Let's hope he's not yet another stooge

This must have been in the works for a while, it’s not something we’d just all of a sudden announce out of nowhere with barely any discussions.

This seems like a pretty seismic change to me.

I have mentioned recently I feel Levy should completely separate himself from the footballing side and just concentrate on the commercial and marketing side of the club, with a top class football CEO to run the footballing operations. That’s exactly what he’s done with this appointment (providing Munn is top class!) I wanted Paul Barber but this will do.

Now Munn can come in, hopefully put in place the long term strategy for the football club on the pitch including core principles and hopefully hire a sporting director and manager who align with these principles.

Maybe Levy's plan is to create TFG , Tottenham Football Group and follow in the footsteps of CFG that's where Munn has come from.

Remains to be seen if this means Levy will be less involved in the football side of things, but it is a step in the right direction.

I posted in next thread but also think it fits here

My choice for manger is/was Slot, Poch, or Nagelsmann. Liked a few others (including Ange)

However, there are strong links and many articles talking about the links between City Group and how they think highly of Ange. Ange was the manager for the J league champions, which City have a small stake in. I would be totally OK with Ange coming in if it meant a faster unison of vision.

You would HOPE (I know most of us lost it) that through various ITK snippets that Levy thinks we do need a rebuild, and possibly shift back towards developing/signing young talent:

- Levy provides from a budgeting/connections stand point to Munn
- Munn gets a say in future DoF (If FP goes) and Manager
- City group (despite what we think about them ethically) have done a great job attracting and securing young talent.

My dream is that we somehow go from a shitshow to at least having the foundations in place by end of Summer where everyone is on the same page? I think a quick way to do that is bring in a DoF that Munn would get on well with, and get Ange in Might be very wishful thinking, but we shall see.

This is a great point.

We lack to state that Levy is incompetent and maybe a control freak but he is certainly a highly intelligent individual.

One of the biggest problems I think is that there are too many in his ear. He needs to stop listening to non-football people who have an agenda or who may just be trying to say what they think he wants to hear - "too expensive" yada yada

But we saw how easy Mourinho hoodwinked him.

What we need is genuinely food football brains around him and ones that work well under the constraints we have.

Then we may get to see better decisions in the footballing front and less chance of Levy feeling the need to intefere.

My worry is if some of the other board members dont take to Munn and start to go behind his back to Levy.

Has anyone seen a pic of Munn or know what he looks like. I'm just worried we might start seeing a short bald guy wearing a hat with corks that obscures his face at all times and want some reassurance.

Sorry, the pessimist in me after following spurs for so many years, all i read in this is that, now there will be one more person after Paratici or whoever takes that job, that will have to ask Levy for permission to buy a player.

Not getting my hopes up at all, hope we get some ITK soon that can prove me wrong, we really need a carrot out of the shit show that has been lately :(

Yeah I get it and me too, but this is a big change. Munn is on the board, to an extent he is protected
