Google deal sealed just as Mbappe comes on the market at 400m. Coincidence? I think not….

I did wonder, as we have Hewlett Packard as an official IT partner, whether any deal with Google could interfere or cause issues with that? I don't really know anything about it though so just thinking out loud really.

I think the HP partnership would be unaffected. I believe their presence at Spurs is mainly hardware and back end related… POS terminals, networking infrastructure, the ticketing systems, turnstiles etc.

I guess Android devices, tablets and handsets etc could well become used in the training ground and for first team purposes though, like the NFL using Microsoft Surface tablets for tactical stuff on the pitch.

Then again, things change fast in technology…!

Not sure he’d integrate straight into the starting XI. Might need 6 months to understand his position and also improve on his tactical awareness. Good option off the bench in the meantime for the last 5/10mins until he’s had a good pre season with us

Massive company but as a club you wouldn’t want Google in your stadium name. It doesn’t have the same ring to it as Etihad or Emirates. Google sounds a bit shit.
I'd rather have a shit name of a tech company, than a shit name associated with murderous regimes.

This is a bit like what people say when a fit girl turns them down.

“Yeah she was a super model, but her name didn’t really match with my last name so it could never work long term.”

Securing Google as a sponsor would have been a massive coup for the club, I would have been all for that. It’s a name however that doesn’t flow well off the tongue. I’m not supporting what’s behind City or Arsenal but the brand names as a ‘name’ are both powerful and stand out. We could have Google plastered all over the stadium but being called the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’ sounds a damn sight better than anything with Google in it.

Weird that this was picked up by a couple reputable outlets, if it's true that it's not on. Wonder if this was a club leak with the purpose of creating urgency with another potential sponsor?
