As for Negredo.. decent record when you see goals/games but shots/goals is not the best. He'd fit in well with us (!), but we should be looking for someone more clinical. I am a bit concerned about Sevilla wanting rid, they aren't a foolish club. Unless they are skint there is probably another reason - like Marseille and Remy. His form is poor, he's not recovered since the injury, the price is some 8m euro less than touted last season.

negredo is kinda like a poor man's llorente, with lesser aerial prowess but a slightly better shot in him. him and damiao are probably around the same level, but as of now i would say negredo slightly edges damiao due to his maturity of the game. damiao of course however has a bigger potential.

if we are going for negredo i hope its something around 10m. anything thats above 12, would rather stump up the cash for isco or even damiao. i understand isco is not a striker, but as of now, ANY creative player would make a huge difference for our team. while mout can deliver the killer pass to unlock the d, isco can make the runs, skips past the defenders and dish out the deadly ball in final third.

llorente would be amazing, but negredo would be good enough for me.

hm, that could be representative of the team he's playing in. I don't see Sevilla much to know for sure.

Concerning is that he doesn't get many opportunities per game. On average. Again, maybe down to the team. Or maybe he doesn't do much else, just waits for the ball. Again I don't know.

Iago Aspas of Celta has been talked about recently, linked to Chelsea yesterday or the day before. Is he any good? Celta are a poor team. He's scored half their goals!

shot per ratio stat is nothing but bs......you need to take the shots otherwise how could you let the goal in??? not every team has xavi, iniesta who will tear the defense in final third and give the ball to their strikers in a much more swift position...luis suarez has the most shots to goal in this season and he is the 2nd highest scorer in the league...do you think suarez is that bad? if defoe would have taken more shots like suarez, he certainly could score atleast 12 goals already !!!

this is why I mentioned about his team's style, and why we need someone more clinical.

You would have Ronaldo in your team, he has a lot of chances - which include often missed free kicks - but scores a lot of goals. To my knowledge, Negredo is not this type of player and his missed opportunities are in and around the box. We should be looking at someone who doesn't need so many chances to score, we have two of those players already.

Are you being obtuse on purpose? I think you've completely misunderstood what I said. I am not saying we should base signings on shots/goals, am I? I am suggesting that if you only look at goals/game it is just as misleading. If you actually watch players you would realise how they can and can't fit into a set up!!

Suarez would be perfect for Spurs - cheating aside. He is hard working, creative, determined and a deadly finisher.

The point is that Negredo may not be, if you are only looking at goal stats you miss a good proportion of the picture. That is all. I didn't think it was going to be this hard to explain.

Also on another note if a correct fee can be arranged for a certain striker from spain then it could be a deal to be done! I expect 1 in for sure and hopefully 2 if all goes to plan!
