Ethnically he wouldn't consider himself British...I would imagine

Brendan Rodgers considers himself British as per this quote:

"“Because I’m a British manager, I got lucky, that’s the way it works in these games. But the players were brilliant and got their rewards.”

You could argue that's just symptomatic of Spurs being (close to) a top club though? The higher up you go, the fewer rungs above them in the ladder. Unless he suddenly became a world class manager overnight, he was only ever going to drop down and manage someone in a worse position after his time here?
Yeah, we experience similar problems when getting the better players to sign for us.

I don't disagree but it was only 2 managers ago a bright young thing gave up a good gig to join us and that went well for both parties.
Things were nowhere near as bad then though. We'd just come 6th which was, all things considered, around expectations despite the dreadful start before AVB got sacked. We were losing to the giants, but very consistently beating everyone else. We didn't have an extremely expensive squad that really should at a minimum be around the top four looking like a bottom-half outfit. We didn't have open mutiny from the stands or our best player floundering after wanting out. And for all his faults, Tactics Tim had at least got the side looking decent going forward and started playing young Harry Kane, rather than two years of ultra-defensive coaching which will take a long time to undo even if Guardiola or Klopp walked through the door tomorrow.

I imagine if Levy does decide to sack Nuno he will not do so and leave us open to another long manager search. Nuno will only get the bullet when Levy has a replacement lined up to announce the next day. I imagine discussions between Levy, Paratici and Hitchin started last night (if not a few weeks ago after the Arsenal game).

Yeah, I don’t expect an interim manager at this point. Nuno will struggle on until the club has someone else lined up.

You do know he was born in Northern Ireland which is part of the UK and thus he is considered to be British.

Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and the British Nationality Act 1981 generally considers that a person born in the UK will be a British citizen by birth if one of their parents was either a British citizen or settled in the UK at the time of birth
You didn't say you wanted a British citizen born in the UK you said British and he's Irish, Northern Irish yes but Irish.
Either way I don't want him nor do I want Gerrard, I like Scott Parker but like Gerrard we need to be looking at more experience than that. If Nuno goes then Potter is where we should start.

I just want someone to instill some heart into this team. There is no reason why with the players we have in our squad that we should be doing a whole lot better than what we are.

The below is a disgrace and should not be tolerated.

How about Paratici focus on player recruitment and HItchen focuses on manager recruitment. If ITK is to be believed, ETH and Potter were Hitchen's choices.
Sadly ship has sailed on Potter and ETH. Would’ve loved to have one of them here to properly start a new cycle…

Potter is proving a lot of us (myself included) wrong and he should have been our top choice in the summer. How depressing is it that the Manager of Brighton doesnt want to manage Tottenham Hotspur.

Conte etc are never going to happen so not even worth imagining what it would be like. My expectations are now bottom of the barrel and I dont see Levy sacking Nuno for a while yet.

Yep I was anti-Potter in summer and he is proving me wrong. Personally I dont think he would reach Poch heights but I'm sure the football would be much better and we would be competing!

dont blame him one bit staying put where has near enough full control.

You can point fingers at individual players BUT if you listen to Nuno speak - he is dour has no personality no charisma and this team reflect this on the pitch exactly

The team have fallen into a collective depression - no one looks like they want to be out there - no one looks like they are enjoying their job and hence you get seriously sub standard performances

This is only going to change with a change of manager and it does now make sense of why Nuno left wolves with lots of burnt out chat - the evidence is before our eyes..

I mean i'm not too concerned about having a media savvy, PR loving manager on interviews.

But the interviews and conferences look like a complete inconvenience for Nuno. Fills you with no confidence unfortunately.

Two things come to mind:-

If a decision is made to move Nuno on which I believe is correct, we must avoid the Mourinho fiasco and have his replacement lined up first. My impression on Nuno is of a startled rabbit caught in the headlights

I don't think it will be straight forward to sack Nuno as there is a chain of command now. It was Levy who stated the aim for a return to attacking football, however he has handed the football side over to Paratici who I understand recruited Nuno. If Levy is concerned about our progress, style of play and the general unrest around the club does he undermine Paritici and replace Nuno and what is Paratici's take on the current situation. Will they ride it out? The whole things a self inflicted mess where they spent months only to appoint the wrong manager which the majority on here forecast at the outset

Palace have taken 10 games to undo years of Hodgson football.

I wanted Potter in the summer i want him even more now. Sadly that ship has sailed and may not come around again. I'm now hoping PSG sack Poch soon for some reason or someone at the club is championing Gallardo and can convince Levy to take a chance on him.
