Ignoring the issue of how many players we need in the longer term, January doesn't seem to be the best time to try and integrate too many new players anyway. For all the faults of many of our existing squad, at least they have had a few months to get used to Conte's methods. New players (at least those who haven't worked with Conte before) might take time to settle and we really don't have time for that. I'd say 4 would have been the maximum to bring in anyway. Looks like we have 2, and anything could happen with a few more.

Pleased we are having a clear out, but can’t help feel we’re leaving ourselves a bit light, even with the 2 Juventus boys in?

valenciayid on 'are we done?':
No….but we are defo in the territory of making sure those we want and need out are gone…thats critical

I forgot to say thank you so much for all the ITK this window!

As much as I really wanted another CM or RWB, I forgot to mention how important these outgoings are. Between Summer and rumored today - we'll have cleared out: Foyth, Sissoko, Alderwerield, Lamela, Rose, Aurier. With rumored: GLC, Ndombele, Dele.

Yes, this season hasn't been great, but we're still in a top 4 race during the middle of the "painful" rebuild. We've managed to keep our two star players in Kane and Son. We now have Conte and in the Summer we all agreed that a clearout was needed, that would now be 8 players out from Pochettino's squad with the Summer window rumored to be the big one.

No we need a RWB for sure imo to call this a success

Agreed

That was seemingly Conte's number 1 position to upgrade. It's quite a niche position though, so I'm not surprised we're struggling.

Exactly. Great point.

Integrating several new players half way through a season can be problematic.

Conte signed Eriksen in January 2020 and it took him a long time to adjust.

Is that not information he picks form the thousands of people he follows on twitter as appose to have actual inside information?
I've always suspected Hitchen gives him bits and pieces at times but can't see anyone in recruitment would have time to be updating him on anything today.

Yeah to be fair having a good think I don't know who'd possibly be feasible and up for the task at the same time rn

There's stuff still happening/ being discussed/worked on. Always the same on deadline day it's on, it's off, its back on again. Just because second rate aggregators posing as journalists don't know what is going on doesn't mean that there isn't. 11 hours to go and things are constantly changing, but it is not the time to start worrying just yet.
