Christ I've read some horseshit today but this is one takes it. Maddison, Vicario, VDV are all HUGE upgrades on what went before - all signed this window. I'm pissed off we've lost Kane and not got a big name replacement, and yes another CB would have been ideal but the fucking melodrama in this thread is unbearable.
Those three would have been great if we kept kane. After losing Kane we're a bit short. Especially watching Richy.

I'm annoyed if it ends with just Johnson but it's nowhere near one of our worst windows.

We've brought in Vicario, VdV, Maddison & Johnson who all arguably improve our starting XI.

Yes we've failed to shift the shite once again, but it's not anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Are we a couple of players short, yes we are. But the squad is at the start of a rebuild and it's going to take time.
It would be nice to not be left short for once. 2CB’s this summer was an absolute minimum, CB & BJ today was the absolute minimum, sorry but it’s yet another failed window if it’s just BJ in today.

No deadwood moved on. Our star striker gone and the goals not replaced. One injury away from davinson sanchez starting in defence.

This might be Daniel Levy’s worst window of all time. How anyone is deluding themselves that this is in any way a positive window I’ll never know
I hate Levy, but come on dude. We’ve signed probably the most ‘spurs’ style player we have in the past decade in Maddison, a player we can shape our entire team around.

If Richarlison looked anything like the player we thought we were buying for 60 mill - indeed anything like the player he is for Brazil - this would look and feel like a much better Window than what it looks and feels like right now.

But he doesn't and now we don't have Kane and here we are...

I'm certain Son will be our starting centre forward and that's why we are signing Johnson. We will be pretty loaded out wide especially when Gil returns too (who I think will suit us well). Honestly we were never likely to get a player better for the job than Son but wide attackers seem to be far more attainable.

In all fairness, it would be nice if folks could wait to vent their spleen until after the window is officially closed, as it gums up this thread with pages of vitriolic spew we've heard a zillion times before.

Too many are frothing at the mouth over hypothetical situations that haven't been remotely confirmed in the press. Let's try to hold fire, before going full pitchfork brigade.

Yeah it feels like BJ is both a long term Son replacement but a short term Richarlison fix up.

the money spent on BJ might have come at the expense of a CB I fear albeit a home grown fix as well.

I'm choosing to be bullish on Ange getting a tune out of Dav in a high line (optimistic rating etc etc)
