This has turned out to be a huge lie from DL. Which we knew, but it hurts paying the highest season ticket in sport for an underfunded team
Again, in the last 7 months we have signed Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Sessegnon, Fernandes loan fee...I'm not sure how much cash people think the club has just laying around. The stadium has effected our transfers, in that it has let us spend club record fees on highly promising players that we otherwise would not have. Did you expect us to be immediately spending 200m a window?

I don't think it's a bad window. We've brought in a couple of decent young players but haven't addressed any of the problem areas. One big plus for me though is that we've got rid of a couple of whingers who, IMO, were having a negative effect. A striker would have been nice, but we're in the same situation Poch dealt with over and over when Kane got injured. See if Mourinho fares as well I guess.

Right lads, I’m off to watch the 100% definitely, absolutely not deliberately, conveniently released video of Harry Kane stretching his leg

I think we should all stop giving ENIC our money. It's the only language they'll understand a message in.

Should be pinned to the top of every thread - fairly logical but very few seem to grasp it.
Er... we should have had £180m of CL revenue sloshing around last summer that couldn't have been factored into the stadium spend. We've now spent that.

So without CL revenue, exactly how was Levy planning to do ANY business in the transfer market?

Maybe not for this thread but hoping okay whilst we've had some ITK on the finances.

That'll help the club buy players.
If they're not going to spend the money on the players we need regardless of whether we give them our money or not (which I believe is currently the case), we'd be better off keeping the cash in our pockets rather than theirs.

I’d bet that a large chunk of that £180 million Champions League revenue was swallowed up by player and staff bonuses.
