Probably about 2. Kids/GrandkidsThe amount they earn they should have done that already. How many generations of their families do they think need to do fuck all their entire lives?

Let's see what Father Christmas brings. If you've been good. Thanks to everyone who donated yesterday. We had a decent response and it's covered the bills for a couple more months. Ideally, by the end of the window we'd like to be covered up until Christmas but it's an excellent start. Thanks!
They earn unbelievable wealth but then you see this ridiculous clobber they wear, the houses, the women, the cars and that money only last for maybe 10 to 15 years and as a boring middle aged man I always think, yeah they're going to run out of money pretty quickly after they retire. The amount they earn they should have done that already. Vardy has reported turned down an offer from Saudi Arabia to avoid uprooting his family.I think it's weirder when players who already have millions stashed away uproot their families and kids to go live in the desert, just so they can earn even more money that they don't need.
He may need the cash, just to fund his wife's legal billsVardy has reported turned down an offer from Saudi Arabia to avoid uprooting his family.
Think of all those extra cars that he won't be able to buy that he would never have had time to drive anyway. Such a huge sacrifice for his kids.
On topic...donated!

How much is costing these days? Last post I can see was you saying £400. But that was 2013.We used to have a "counter" and it never made much difference.

Rob, I'm all for you guys getting donations and people getting to show their appreciation through donations (you deserve it, they deserve it), but how can it be that you need to lean on them to keep the ship floating?Literally the first post in this thread
I feel like you guys are missing some form of opportunity here?
Could you not possibly have a section on the website for ‘Forum Sponsors & Advertisers’ to help generate some additional income? It's a two-fold problem to some extent:
1) Advertising revenue has dropped off a cliff and as we keep seeing, Google keep trying to push the really annoying (full screen, pop-up, etc) ads. If we allowed them, it could well pay for itself but it really ruins the site.
2) We need a server that can handle the insane traffic for about 2 weeks of the year. We have to pay for it for the whole year though. It'd be a fraction of the cost to support the server for a normal boring week in November or March. We've looked at options for "on demand" type pricing before and these just never worked (or they got really ridiculous really fast). So we're paying a premium to make sure we don't go down at the end of January/August.
At the minute I'm reasonably happy. We do have to pass the begging bowl around a few times a year but that generally works well and means we can avoid going down the Football London route with all their adverts.
Thanks, that makes sense! It's a two-fold problem to some extent:

Done that before, it raised 50p or so. We just don't have enough diverse traffic to really generate anything from that. Even Amazon (where I assume most people shop) makes us maybe £5 a month at best.Could you not possibly have a section on the website for ‘Forum Sponsors & Advertisers’ to help generate some additional income?
