I hope AVB wants Barry, what makes me worried is that I don't think he does.

Edit: Infact, I hope he doesn't!

Don't get swapping Parker for Barry. They're the same age (32) and we'd have to pay more for Barry.

Probably best not to get your hopes up. If this ends up anything like the Leandro deal Bernard would have retired by the time we reach an agreement.
Also, had anyone on SC heard of Bernard six months ago?
P.s. I still want him. I WANT HIM!!!!

Technically Barry is quite a good footballer, not quite Mr Excitement or the elusive pass master we are hoping to hear news of, but he will give 100%, has the Parker mentality, and IMO that is a good thing.. Bernhard & Barry, has a Dembele & Dempsey ring to it..

Sounds to me as though Baldini has been asked to identify potential deep lying/defensive midfielders, Barry and Marrone are probably just two options we're looking at.

There's a reason Barry keeps getting into the City team and it's not because he had incriminating photos of Mancini.

He's a good player but not one we should buy considering dude old.

Won't be long before Ambrosini is linked then...

Me, me, me. I had. I watched a highlights show on the Brazilian league and he was player of the week.

Whether or not there's anything to each of the individual links (Can, Marrone, Barry, Guarin, Nainggolan), though, it seems clear that we're looking to replace 2-3 of Livermore/Hudd/Parker with a new DM or two to understudy Sandro.

I'd be happy to suffer and tak a bullet by taking Barry if it meant we could get Bernard!

I'd be absolutely amazed if we were after Barry.
Way way way past his best days
Would be an awful addition

I don't think if we for some reason signed Barry that he would be a starter. He would be an experienced midfielder that you can bring on when you need to calm shit down and close out a game, a lot of good managers have a one or two players like this on the bench. Barry provides the same stuff that Parker does when it comes to mentality but Barry is five times the footballer Parker is when it comes to the technical side. Mancini signed Pizarro on loan for just this reason last season and the guy just featured 5 times but every single time that he came on in the last 15 minutes he made a large differance, he calmed everything down and made City play more controled again.

I wouldn't mind Barry at all to be honest.

We should stop talking about Gareth Barry and start talking about more logical things such as: Bernard, Baldini apparently likes Marrone (Ignore that he may like Barry), etc.
